July 1st Is Almost Here! How Will You Celebrate Canada Day?

Canada Day (July 1st) is almost upon us. Does anyone have any big plans? My husband is an American, and I'm a Canadian, so we celebrate both holidays. This year we are going to take full advantage of the awesome weather we have been getting. We are going to decorate the balcony with Canadian flags, I'm going to get some Canada-themed cookies and cupcakes, and maybe some cheese and meat from the deli, and a sushi tray. We are going to have a picnic on our penthouse balcony, and then after that we are going to hit the pool!!! The nice thing is that this year Canada Day falls on a Sunday, so that means we can listen to all of our favourite multi-cultural programs on CKWR, while we celebrate. Since a big part of Canada is diversity, this will make things extra special. Five years ago in 2013, we spent Canada Day in Ottawa, our Nation's capital. That was spectacular, and I'm so glad we did it while we had the chance, and while we had the money. Canadians, how are you choosing to celebrate? If you are not Canadian, and wherever you are, please join in the celebration. As a Canadian, I want to share my nation's 151'st birthday with the WORLD!!!!

I don't have any plans as yet. My friend Juanita might come down from Hamilton and we'll take it from there.
