Hot in Myrtle Beach and Charleston!

We really had a great vacation in Myrtle Beach, then on to our daughter's in Charleston, SC for a couple of days.
The first day in Myrtle Beach, we enjoyed calabash style seafood, then walked on the beach at sunset. A thunderstorm came up before we could get back to the condo, it was horrible!
Just as we got in, the power went out. Thankfully, it was only for two hours, but the people who came in after us couldn't operate the automatic gate. Even though some were able to drive around it, they couldn't get in their rooms with the electronic card keys!
The next day we enjoyed the beach for a short time (too hot!), then went to the Pirates Cove dinner theater. It was fantastic....I know there are some myLotters who live near Myrtle Beach and I really recommend it.
On Saturday, our family ate at a small restaurant. Lowcountry Kitchen, on the Isle of Palms. The omelette was so good! Later, we girls went shopping in downtown Charleston.
For supper, our son-in-law grilled some steaks. We headed home the next morning and I've been doing laundry ever since!
It really was wonderful at Myrtle Beach, but my favorite part was being with our kids at their house.

I am glad you had a great time. I am in Florida and the weather is awful already. It is up to almost 100 already. I am a northeasterner and really do not like this heat. We got some hot days in New Jersey and Pennsylvania but this is the pits.

@1creekgirl I totally agree with you. I change my clothes a few times a day especially if I am working in the garden. I have never had so many showers in one week than I do now. At least one thing, I am always clean.

I hadn't thought about car windows. So much is electronically controlled these days.

@1creekgirl True but if there is flood or emergency and you can't open the windows it could be fatal.

Never been to Charleston. I was in Savannah and it can get very hot and humid in the summer. Have you seen the old plantation homes in Charleston?

When we were there for our 50th wedding anniversary, we went on a horse drawn carriage tour through historic Charleston. The homes are just beautiful. I imagine that Savannah is very similar. And yes, it is extremely humid in the summer!

I am glad that you had such a lovely vacation at Myrtle Beach. Seeing your grown up kids must have been fantastic, I love the sound of the Pirate Cove and the Isle of Palms. I am sure the walk on the sunset beach was amazing. Don't let the thunderstorm ruin that memory. I like you photo on this wonderful experience.

I hope you have a great time! BTW, don't eat at Bennetts Seafood. It was awful and they seated us right by the kitchen with a huge open trash can.
