We have military training every autumn when new students come to school here. We used to find instructors in the army to train the students. In recent years, we have begun to train our students' instructors. These are the students selected from the old students. They will take on the training of new students. Dear friends, do the freshmen in your place need to take part in military training?

Thank you for sharing, dear friend. This kind of military training can exercise students' body and will. But as far as I know, the students don't like it.

@porwest It is indeed the case. Every participation is their experience. It will become a fortune sooner or later.

@caopaopao Of course they don't. Not now. But in their older years they may look back and appreciate it.

I think it is better for the senior students to train the fresh ones. In fact I don't really like the military training as I saw some negative news about it via the net. Some soldiers are rude and I don't think they are qualified to train students.

We have CAT in junior and senior high school during my time. And college students do have an option now to choose between Community Service and Military Training.

@caopaopao I have chosen community service. I dropped my ROTC when I was in my freshman year and waited for the NSTP (comm service) to be approved. And I enrolled NSTP when I was 3rd yr college.

We used to have Citizen's army training but no thanks to those fraternities, we end up having NSTP instead.

Military training is not mandatory in the US. Students can join ROTC if they like, or join the reserve or National Guard if they want. I was drafted into the army long ago, but we no longer do that.

It is indeed the case. We have saved the cost of hiring instructors, but also trained our old students' ability.

Haha, military training can really exercise children. But the children will be very tired.
