Where we were on this day in 2015

Cock and Bull Hotel, Ireland

At this time, datewise, in 2015, we were in Ireland and my notes say we were on board the ‘Oscar Wilde’ ferry heading for France. So this photo must have been taken somewhere near Rosslare and I guess the name intrigued me. A ‘cock and bull story’ is one that isn’t true. We’d just bought an old motor-home in Ireland and had a lot of adventures ahead of us. What a lot of water has flowed (flown?) under a lot of bridges since then. Two years later on the same date (29 June) we were at Trim Haymaking Festival in Ireland on a very hot day – and still in our trusty old motor-home. But isn’t it a lovely clean building?

Hi Judy. I am still working for a company and doing work stuff of which I am bored with. And today, I sit in my chair and do work at home. . In 2015 and 2017 you were in Ireland? That place has a touch of modern and classic in it. So nice.

@JudyEv That is quite a different name for a building. What is inside there?

It is a hotel. A lot of the hotels there have funny names.

@Hannihar They probably don't have a lot of people staying there but the locals and others would go there for a drink and perhaps a meal. They might have live music some nights so people would sit around and listen to that while having a drink. .

I remember that trip of yours. I loved all of Ireland and found it clean and green and beautiful. I think we were there in 2013.

Tasmania reminded us of Ireland too. It all looks freshly washed. I guess because of the amount of rain they get.

@JudyEv I saw a movie that took place in Tasmania. It did have lots of greenery and lovely streams. Yes, just like Ireland!

@judyev Flowed/flown - not what a pickle I’m in trying to decide the proper way to proceed here. Flown suggests to me flight, so I’m going to go with flowed even though it too sounds not quite right. Perhaps ‘passed’ would be a useful alternative, although my phone has also suggested pissed.

I'm pretty sure it's flowed as the base of flowed is 'flow' and the base of flown is 'fly'. Passed would be acceptable but probably not pissed. Did you know there is a River Liffey in Tasmania and Wikipedia says it was named by an Irishman.

I quite like the grey colour although some days everything in Ireland seems grey.

It looks nicely cared for and maintained. Lordy 3 years ago it does not seem possible!

I can't believe we were in Ireland just last year. It seems much longer ago. In future, I am going to keep an eye on where we were 12 months ago as it might be interesting.
