Puppy worries

Philippines
June 28, 2018 8:13pm CST
One of my puppies had some stomach problem yesterday and I check his tummy and it was warm. I resorted to force feed him some moringa powder and then sugar. Today, I'm supposed to take him to the vet but he seemed to be very energetic as usual and also ate when I gave them breakfast. Maybe I should be careful what to feed them.

Yeah, they've said sugar helps sometimes on sick dogs. I just don't get the scientific connection but many used to say that. I'm glad your dog is well.

It helps with dogs with appetite problems but I'm glad things are okay with him now @simplfred . That's just easy speculation @kepweng you don't get diabetes with just one table spoon of sugar per day.

when any of our dogs vomit or get nauseous, we put half a teaspoon of refined sugar in their water and they drink it. sugared water may be like dextrose to them.

Hi LK. Yes, we should be careful at all times, most especially when they are young.

Hello @mlgen1037 Yeah they're young, maybe I've just added too much rice on their meal.

Some people do the same thing in feeding the dog with sugar. For the reason that it was being poisoned.

Hello @Shavkat I don't think I poisoned my dog but somehow the sugar brought his appetite back.

I've noticed when dogs have stomach issues, they eat grass, which causes them to throw up, and then they are fine.

Puppies tend to have sensitive stomachs because they're still young. Eventually they will develop better immune system. Glad to know your puppy is well now.

Puppies are sensitive. I have kittens and my father gives them cooked chicken bones. I hate this. He doesn't understand that they are too small to eat cooked bones. They are dangerous.

He probably had a tummy ache. The food you gave him might have been too heavy for his stomach. Glad that he's okay now.

@Letranknight2015 Maybe he found food on the floor and ate it is why his stomach was acting up.
