I'm a fan of Jordan Klepper's "The Opposition" (described by -Vanity Fair- as "his Trump-era /Colbert Report/). In it, comedian Jordan Klepper satirizes the terror the Trump-Administration is wreaking upon the federal government ... "fiddling while Rome burns?" https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2018/06/jordan-klepper-the-opposition-canceled-comedy-central-alt-right Last night (both in the latest broadcast and ... I'm still catching-up-with recordings of a few of the broadcasts from earlier this week), I learned that THEM (in this instance, VIACOM) is 'shutting-down' "The Opposition." ... I'm surprised he didn't do a "If you can hear this, you ARE The Resistance" (TERMINATOR: SALVATION)-inspired sign-off ... something like 'We've been fighting a long time, and we have all lost so very much---so many loved ones gone. You are not alone; there are pockets of The Opposition all around the country. We are at the brink. "Above all, stay alive. You have no idea how important you are. "This is Jordan Klepper. If you're seeing this, You are The Opposition " And the final scene of last night's show---the emblem of the alt-right movement (the sign that "something's wrong, so we've got to scream like infants ") - The Gaslight

Luckily, I never watch Comedy Central. The article just drips with liberal self-righteousness. Trump may be inarticulate and inelegant, he may make the liberals twitch with his simple, straightforward adherence to the Constitution, and they definitely scream "you're going to kill us all" when he makes bold statements to our enemies, but their biggest problem is that they cannot deny his success. So as he continues winning in his MAGA way, they are left with nothing but group chanting in unison, being incapable of individual thought and opinion. It must be horrible for them, having to wait for Colbert or Noah or some other television talking head to tell them what to think about political issues. And they worry about Trump while half the country relies on comedians to inform their political choices. Scary.

Personally, I probably get most of my 'news' from comedy ... the first one I think of is The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, but I've probably also been influenced by "Weekend Update" from SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE. But I should probably be careful to say--when I tell people 'I get my news from comedy'--"the comedy" is like 'talking with friends about the news'---i.e. the comedians are not "reporters" (even if they're 'dressed like it'), anymore than I'm a "government-official."

@mythociate The problem is that the comedians are just giving out their personal opinions, not really the news. I remember when Jon Stewart did the celebrity news on the E! network so I tend to distrust his political acumen.
