I subscribe to a newsletter called Blabber Buzz.
The site's tagline says it's “Where political junkies get their fix”.
I'm not a political junkie by any stretch of the imagination. I like the newsletter because ... sometimes I think the headlines are … kinda funny!
Here's a headline for Saturday, June 30, 2018:
Trump defends ‘brave’ ICE agents as Dems call to abolish agency
What? You don't think that's funny?
My first thought was ... Which agency?
Surely they don't mean ______.
To my shock. Yes. YES! They did mean ... ICE.
The agency is ICE. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The Democrats want to abolish ICE??
What's my next thought?
Maybe "abolish" doesn't mean what I think it means. Let me go look it up in the dictionary!!
Another shock! Abolish does mean what I think it means.
Abolish? Abolish is a verb which means to formally put an end to (a system, practice, or institution).
Our elected politicians are calling to abolish ICE?
Come on. Be serious.
This isn't FAKE NEWS.
It's FAKE POLITICS!
If We the People want something abolished ... let's get rid of this nonsense!
* Do politicians think we're a nation of imbeciles? *
I don't know about the rest of my fellow Americans, but I'm insulted by this report.
President Trump defended “great and brave” Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers against progressive calls to shut the agency down in...

Yes. I figured that. It's why I put the words "Immigration and Customs Enforcement" right underneath it. I thought everybody would notice that. My bad! I apologize. But I was very upset when I wrote this post. I had to go calm down. I'm still upset about it.

My brain has totally given up at the state of politics today. I do not know one side from the other.
