Family...

This saying is so true... "Family isn't always blood." In my earlier post I made about getting out of town to visit my family, we actually visited some of my husband's family. He was in foster care. Yes, I know I'm always speaking of the mother-in-law, but my husband was put in foster care. Before he was put in foster care his mom tried to put him in a "nut house" or a juvenile detention center. The only problem was he wasn't a "bad" boy!! His mom just never wanted him, in fact when she was pregnant with my husband, family (in-laws) had to watch over her as she tried to abort him!! So, when he finally was placed in foster care, because the dad feared that the mom would kill my husband in his sleep. We both know his foster mom (as my husband has had two of his other biological brother and sister placed with this family) and she lives in the same town as my mom and brother. (When we were married the first time, we lived in the same town.) When we go to visit my family, we usually stop by my husband's foster mom (her husband is deceased.) She has even mentioned that she found papers stating that she had custody of him until he was 19!! This time when we were there, he was able to see two of his adopted sisters. They all think of him as a brother still to this day. Of course when they saw him, they told him he should go see "mom!" It's kind of strange for my husband as his biological brother married and divorced my husband's adopted sister!! So, in some cases family isn't always blood!! ~Peace~

I agree with you on that. Family is having those persons in your life who are willing to reach out and open your doors for you.

I know for sure that family is not always blood. I have been lucky, but I know many people arenĀ“t.

Wow, that must have been rough worrying about your "mom" always wanting to kill him. Some people are just so crazy. He was lucky he found you and has a good life now.
