DVD's Anyone?

I will be decluttr'ng (spelling intended) my shelves around here. So many dvd's to be sent off to the decluttr people and hopefully they will take them all. Even if they don't take them all they will be out of my hair which will be good. That will be a project for the next couple of weeks. I will have to let everyone know what my return is on those. The shelves that they are on will be given a nice good clean and I may just chuck them out the door as well! It will give me a bit more room to breathe here in my bedroom and that is always good. Plus any money I get will go towards gifts or bills or both.

I can't wait to find out how Decluttr worked for you. I have never used it, but it sounds like a good idea. I need to look into it and see if I can get rid of some stuff. Have you ever used Letgo or another app like that?

No I haven't. I don't know, I just don't really like selling directly to people. I will definitely let everyone know how decluttr works for me. I'll be putting some dvd's into the system a little later and seeing what it spits out. I need to find a box I can put the dvds in or else buy one. I imagine I'll make atleast $100 from all of the dvds (there are hundreds of them) but I won't expect more or less.

@morgoodie I will definitely keep the site in mind for the future as well. There is a really nice book case that these dvds are all on. Once I get it cleaned out I will probably use it to display some of the stuff I haven't been able to display myself.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Well I wish you luck with it. At least, you will get something and they will be out of the house. I need to look into that.

I wonder if local thrift stores take DVDs. I have several my sister gave me from her husband's old collection. I don't think I will ever get around to watching them.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I have never heard of Ed McKay's. I will have to look them up.

@AmbiePam They are in NC and Tennessee. Apparently it's now called "Mckay's" because the "Edward" part apparently sold out of the business. Check out decluttr.com and see if they would work for you in selling the dvd's your brother in law gave you.

They probably would take them. I even knew (as I am not sure that they are still in business) that would take them. Another option is I could take mine to Ed Mckay's. I just happened to think about that just now. I might consider doing that but i'm not sure if they will give me money or store credit.

We never did get into buying DVDs. I have a handful that I love and am happy to own. Other than that, I don't care to own any more. I'm not a big movie fan so it isn't a logical thing for us to own. We have a TON of CDs but no one wants them I don't think.

If you wanted to get rid of the CD's decluttr.com says they take those too. I hardly even watch t.v. anymore. Today I've been watching youtube for recipes on jams, butters and some breads but that's about it. Tried to see if the family would want any of the dvds but they didn't either. I think most people are going digital now anyway.

@ScribbledAdNauseum What the heck would they do with them?

@NJChicaa Which was actually the response I got from one of them. I asked a cousin who doesn't have cable but does have a DVD player, he didn't want them at all. I can't say as I blame him.

That's good? I don't use them for several reasons. One of which is that I don't watch much television anyway.
