Instead of a brick and mortar border wall, let's consider making a green wall of trees!

Trees take time to grow, but they are much more attractive than a brick and mortar wall or high metal fence. Think of how much of a wasted effort it will be to create a Trump Border Wall as opposed to planting millions of trees along the border? But you will argue that this type of tree border wouldn't do any good to keep Mexicans out of America. Give me a break. Of course it wouldn't. But for every tree in the Amazon that is being bulldozed to a flat desert of nothing, America can be great again by planting millions of more trees and cooling the climate and of course, making America less like a gateway of cement that leads to a Micky D's Happy meal or a road side motel with bed bugs but they have cable tv. Not to mention a country that is bordered by freeways, fast food and convenience stores.

Have you been to the border in El Paso, TX, New Mexico and AZ? It's desert out here and trees require a lot of water which is scarce. Even the Rio Grande no longer flows like it did before the Elephant Butt damn was built.

That damn dam was a very bad idea but tell that to New Mexico @lookatdesktop no one in the Elephant Butt area would be able to survive if that dam were dismantled. It was built around 1912.

@rebelann That damned dam! Not a good thing in any case. Damed if you do, damned if you don't right?

Yea. I figured as much but I still like the idea. Maybe the cost of irrigating trees is far less a problem than building a freeking wall of brick and concrete that does nothing for the environment period! And if that dam is a problem, maybe it needs to be considered a bad idea as well?

Your idea is the best one yet. If nothing else people could live in the forest!

@lookatdesktop My family might want to live in that forest! We could camp for free-maybe!

You are so right about cooling down the climate planting trees. All nations need to plant more trees and respect the nature.
