Alcohol, helps or worsens?

Every early morning, my brother in law comes home drunk. He is being dragged by friends as he cannot manage to walk a while back. It has not been a great sight for my kids. He may have problems but... I have seen families destroyed because of excessive alcohol drinking. What's your take on excessive alcohol drinking? Do you have relatives like this? We also drink occasionaly but we prefer this native drink in the picture called Tapuey (rice wine) Photo credits to jpgmag.com

I do have. And it's my 2nd Brother. After work, he went home drunk and will start a fight with his wife, sometimes he goes here and mess us around. I hate it when he is drunk. And just like what you said, it is not a nice thing with kids but looks like his kids are getting used to it already.

if he is working/employed, won't drinking daily affect his job performance?

My husband's cousin has the same habit. He is a very good cook. He started a business a small canteen infront of their house and it was doing good but he always drink at night so he cannot tend to open early. Now no business but still continues to drink.

I drink socially and I believe it's bad when a person has an addiction. My father drinks a lot and he isn't the same when he drinks.

Yes occasional and social drinking is acceptable. It became part of some of us. I was lucky I didnt grew up with my father, he left me and went to Guam. He is also a drunkard.
