How many of you started a post here and it disappeared?

I just wrote something about monkeys and it disappeared. I will ask here again. How many of you have or would have a monkey as a pet? If you do, what are they like as pets? I am a dog and cat person and also love dolphins but cannot have one as a pet. Now, I have a cat named Sophie and she is quite interesting and entertaining and can also be bad. I guess I described how a child can act didn't I?

@Hannihar When I was little it seemed like a really cool pet to have but now I don't have the energy to take care of any more pets. Monkeys seem like a lot of energy!! lol

I've never had a monkey for a pet so I have no idea. Sophie sounds entertaining enough.

@Hannihar Cats can be-standoffish when they choose. We used to have cats and they were not concerned about people.

@RubyHawk Thanks Ruby. I was curious if anyone had a monkey and what they are like as pets. Yes, Sophie is very entertaining. This morning I was sitting on the chair having hot chocolate and she was going outside but then she turned around to look at me. I do not know what that was all about. Most of the time when i talk to her she ignores me.

Some monkey pets burned down their owners' houses from what I was told as a child. The ones I saw, were kept in some sort of a cage or with some strings attached, they ate lots and lots of bananas + other fruits, and very aggressive, all of them!

@YrNemo I think if I were kept in a cage I would be aggressive too. I am not a fan of monkeys.

Never had a monkey, and I cannot imagine I would want one. But of course some people do keep monkeys for pets, although it is rare. I know spider monkeys were the rage for a bit, but never knew one who actually owned one. We have a cat.

Do you write your posts directly into the discussion box? That may not be a good idea. I never do. I write my texts on the computer, save them and then post them on myLot. So, if they disappear mysteriously from the site, I still have them on the computer.

Yes, our pets do act like children, good and bad. I've never had a pet monkey or know anyone who has, so I don't know the answer to that.

@just4him That is ok Valerie. I saw it on something and wondered if anyone knew what they were like as pets. I would not have one. I love dogs, cats and dolphins.
