Rice Krispie Treats

United States
July 2, 2018 11:49am CST
Since I don't eat pork gelatin, the marshmallows I get don't melt well, so I looked online for a rice krispie treat recipe using marshmallow fluff. I am reading conflicting reports. Some say you can, but have to add more butter or some say you can't, that it won't set up. I did try it once, adding an extra cup of cereal, and it was delicious, but it really didn't set correctly. Before I try the one where I add extra butter, I want to see if anyone has tried this and if adding the extra butter doesn't make it set right.

Hi Carmela. Rice Krispies can be quite complicated. I would just wait for the end-result.

Complicated? You think I should try to add more butter to see what the result is?

@Carmelanirel2 I mean from my point of view because I do not cook or bake. So do not worry. Anything that you think is better, you may use. Apologies.

That's okay, I even tried a recipe from the marshmallow fluff site, it still didn't set up correctly, but it still tasted good.

I just looked up the recipe for them in Bravetart, but it uses gelatin powder.

Like I said in the post, I did look it up, and tried it one way by adding more cereal and it didn't work and there are many who say it works well while others say not.
