How courageous are you....?

When it comes to changing your hairstyle? Yesterday I sent a message to my hair stylist that I would want to cut my hair really short, pixie style. Her initial reaction? "OMG, are you sure ma'am?" Sent her a photo of how short I wanted it to be and she still gave a gasping reaction. "How could you be so courageous? I envy you for being able to carry that style!" That's what she said after I showed her a photo of mine 4 years ago sporting a pixie cut. This stylist of mine had done my baby lights and balayage. She wanted me to grow my hair longer so she could play more with it. But on the 17th, she will have to chop off her work of art, shoulder length hair of mine, to give way to a new fresh look...the pixie cut and probably a platinum blonde hair...Not sure about the color yet. So, how courageous are you when it comes to your hair style? Photo courtesy of Pinterest.

I am also thinking of cutting my hair shoulder length. The boyfriend asks me to cut it, first time to hear it from him. But I am still thinking twice whether to cut it or not. I still don't know yet. I still have my high lights though.

I still have my balayage. It has been almost 5 months and it's still looking good though. I spent 7,000 for it but I have decided to chop off my hair anyway and color it too.

@toniganzon It would be a better change for you Toni, and besides whatever style or color you have you still look glamorous and pretty.

I chopped my hair off like the girl in the photo when I was in 10th grade back in the 80s. It was fun to try the hair style and I got compliments, but I wouldn't do it again today.

@LeaPea2417 Same length as my hair now. But I easily get bored with the same hairstyle and I can't perm it because I had a balayage.

@toniganzon I like the length of it now. It is a little below my shoulders.

I had long hair for years and I didn't want to change it. Some time ago I dyed my hair, I didn't like the way it turned out and I decided to cut my hair. It is very short now. It looks a bit like the girl in the photo, maybe a bit longer. In the future I want long hair again, My friends and family members are used to my long hair and when they see me now the first thing they say is: "Oh, what happened to your hair?"

@Porcospino I used to do it on my own too but I can't do balayage on my own. It needs a skilled stylist to do that.

I had that pixie cut back in college. I wanted my hair shaved off then but it wasn't allowed in school so I opted for pixie style instead. I think that's the only time I felt brave about my hairstyle. I realize I've had the same shoulder length hair for over a decade now. Actually thinking of copying my daughter's anime-like hair for a change.

I wanted to shave off my hair back then too but had second thoughts. The first time I had a boy cut hair was when I was 12 and it was encouraged by my mom. MOm's usually don't want to see their daughters in that style but my mom loved Demi Moore so much in the movie ghost that she had my hair cut the same way. So in my year book, I was the only student with that cut. Then when I was in high school, I suddenly cut my hair short again and my economics teacher gave me a compliment. She said I looked good in it. I change my hair style every so often people are so used to me in all sorts of styles.

@toniganzon Your mom must have been a very cool mom. :o) It's good to change styles every now and again. And it's especially awesome when a woman experiments on her looks and still keep her own unique personality.

I have worn my hair in pixie cuts for many years. Now that my hair is almost below the waistline, I'm not sure I have the courage to cut it...unless it is to donate my hair to the service of making wigs for cancer patients.

Oh, I have chopped off my hair several times to a pixie cut no matter how long it is. But I couldn't stand having a hair waist long though. Too much for me.

I am a sporty mom and when you have four kids who are boys, you go with their hairstyles. lol. Nt exactly boycut but as short as possible. I maintained that for years but now I am fine with tight ponytails. There are those sentimental moments I want to keep my hair down and just feel being me.

I'm the only woman in this family as I have a son too. In fact my son doesn't really like my short hair. But my husband doesn't really mind. Most of my friends really like it when I surprise them with a new hair style.

I would like my hair to be wavy, I even plan to have my hair permed and cut into a pixie but since I still have my balayage, perming my hair would cause damage to it so not possible.

WHen I was small like when I was in elementary , my mother is so courageous for having my hair cut very short, pixie style like that in the picture. But if it were me, I am not that courageous. I always would want my hair shoulder length and with bangs. Boring me!

I am a guy so getting a short buzz cut was not a problem for me. It grows out so fast, I can't seem to keep it short. I like this style on a woman. For sure it is very stylish.

I give my hairdresser here free reign when it comes to my hair. He knows what looks best for my head and face shape, and he's won color awards all over the world. I have my Florida hairdresser stick to the color and lines of my guy up here. I know I would look like a mouse with short hair. My husband once said that to me. I'm sure you would look adorable. I'm not so sure about platinum on you, but I don't know your skin tone.

Tanned skin. That's my skin tone. My stylist has won many awards too in styling and hair color. She used to work in Chicago I think. She has been around the world for learning what's the latest in hair styling. She frequently visits Singapore for that. Though she's not as good as Guy Tang, she's close.

@DianneN Guy Tang is a famous hair artist in West Hollywood CA. Will have to wait and see if I'd go for the platinum. I haven't decided yet. I might leave my stylist to what color would look great on me maybe. But as to the haircut I'm determined to have it done. Can't wait for the 17th.

Omg, that is such a cute hairstyle. I used to love short hair-dos when I was in school because having long hair kind of gets in the way of doing activities and school stuff. But when I reached adulthood, I started to don the long hair-do because it's just so different from those years when I had the pixie look. Who knows when I reach my 40's, I will reach the pixie phase again. I guess I'm not so courageous after all.

At the age of 30 I had the guy in the 'Salon' put grey in my temples so I would look older! I get a crew cut every 6 months and don't do a thing in the between months. I have had beards and mustaches and beards or mustaches. Hey you ladies don't have anything on us guys--just look around you!

I want to be but my hair does not want to cooperate. If it is cut too short the more volume it gets.

@toniganzon oh yes, I think so. I have one before but he is old now. Before, I used to tell him to cut this and that but he was the one styling and then the result was great. I am sad that I cannot find one that suit my needs.

Hair always grows back so fast that if the style is potentially good, why not? I had mine chopped off pixe style so many times, then left it long passing my waistline etc, on and off.

You're as adventurous as me when it comes to hairstyle then. But I also have mine coloured in different techniques from baby lights to balayage. So I actually spend about $100 every month for the maintenance of my hair. I have to buy olaplex no. 3 and my Lakme teknia shampoo and conditioner.

Some people just prefer to have longer hair. I do love changing my hairstyle quiet so often. I easily get bored with just one hairstyle all throughout my life.
