My husband let me sleep until he was showered, shaved, and dressed. He had an early dentist appointment at the dentist’s new office in a lovely beach town about 50 minutes from us.
He bribed me with brunch and boutique shopping on the pretty Town Green after his appointment. That’s the only reason I went. Lol! We took a drive along the shoreline which was pretty.
Tomorrow is the 4th of July. We are celebrating with our best friends. Each couple will take our matching convertibles to Old Saybrook Point Inn and Marina. My friend and I are booked there for massages. Then we will stop at a vineyard for wine. The finale will be at the Water’s Edge for dinner and music on the patio which is on the beach and hopefully see the fireworks.
So Happy 4th to my fellow Americans and enjoy your day. Celebrate our Independence!

And did you buy a lot of clothes? I saw a blouse yesterday when I was at the mall which reminded me of your dress. I hope the photo I will attach would appear though.

I'm excited about tomorrow, but it will be a long day.
All went well. He has another appointment in a couple of weeks and wants to do a repeat of today. I told him I'll go only because he made a late morning appointment. Good luck with your appointments. It's so important to take good care of our teeth.

@Hannihar Some dentists are really bad. Glad you are taking care of your teeth now and doing well. I had a rotten orthodontist who was a dentist friend of my parents. He didn't do my teeth any good, so I needed to go through the entire process again with a real orthodontist. Sigh....

Thanks and I do. When I was growing up I had this dentist that kept saying my teeth were fine. Boy was he wrong. I grew up and had to deal with what he did not do so I have to make regular appointments for the dental hygienist and see the dentist not that much and brush them twice a day. I make sure I take care of them.

. Well what a fantastic 4th you had! We took a picnic dinner to the next county over and saw fireworks at the park. The other evening we took our first summer beach trip - we aim to go more often (I can see your love for the ocean!)

@DianneN This was a more relaxing 4th for us . . . things went smoothly and we could really enjoy the fireworks show! We are only about 40 minutes from the beach - it's not that far of a drive - so it's very doable. I could go with the kids during the week, but it's much nicer when their dad can join us, so we wait for him to come with us on weekends. But I know you live even closer to your beaches!

@LadyDuck I have a feeling our husbands are twins, too.
I truly dislike having to shop for something for a special occasion. It takes the fun out of shopping. It seems I will be hitting the shops again on Monday. My husband has another dental appointment and asked me to go with him. Afterwords, we will go out to lunch and visit some of those cute boutiques.

You always have the best plans! I had a quiet day here at home. My anxiety had me on edge all day. Not sure why. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. We are going to a party with all of the staff/regulars of our regular hangout. I am bringing my potato salad.

Thank you! I think we are going to be doing too much all in one day, but I can sleep late on Thursday.
So sorry about your anxiety and hopefully it will be much better tomorrow. Your plans sound good to me. I have to taste your potato salad. Do you put anything special in it???

@DianneN No it is just the "All-American Potato Salad" recipe from Cook's Illustrated. White vinegar on the potatoes as soon as they come out of of the water while they are cooling and a bit of relish in with the mayo/celery/onion/seasoning mixture. It isn't "my" recipe but it is one that people always ask me to make.
Note: Prep time includes rest time for potatoes, but does not include chilling time. This recipe is from the food guru's at Cook's Illustrated. I've never been good at just throwing a potato salad together, but this recipe has saved me many a time! For hea

Our 4th of July was truly amazing, and guess who has to go to the dentist again on Monday? I was invited to go and hope to shop some more. The town has such cute little boutiques. Plus, we will stop for lunch. I never pass up opportunities like this. Ha ha!!!
