Happy 4th of July 2018!
For those of us in the US. - how will you celebrate?
For those not in the US. - it is the day we celebrate independence from England. This happened awhile ago, back in the year 1776.
Most people use the day to enjoy summer - there are many parades, street fairs, concerts, bbqs. Many people will go to a lake, a cabin, beaches, swimming. Many more will take in the many fireworks displays that there are , as many towns light up the night with fireworks.
I will be marching in a parade with my dance troupe and hopefully attending a street fair before going home to be with my parents and hope we will cook out and watch firework later.
Happy 4th!

It is amazing to know how young our country is and how our independence helped many other countries fight for their independence as well.

@FayeHazel Only 242 years, that is insane of how much we have accomplished and also destroyed...but we don't think about that part haha!

@DesirousDreamer It's interesting. When I typed out 1776 it seemed like a long time ago.
When you say 242 years it seems much more recent. In fact, very recent in the terms of ages of countries

Happy 4th of July. We don´t celebrate it, of course. We have our own celebration and our own Independence Day.

@mlgen1037 Oh no worries at all. It was nice - the parade went well (other than I was little upset with our driver for driving so fast) while we were trying to dance behind the truck.
Then spent the rest of the day with my parents , got to see the fireworks with them :-)
I hope the lots of things - are all good things :-)

@FayeHazel You are most welcome. How was the celebration? My apologies, not able to say much. Was really doing a lot of things lately.

I've signed a declaration of dependence. Due to the heat and humidity, I'm dependent on my air conditioner.
I hope to have a nice, quiet day (fireworks notwithstanding).

@FayeHazel — couldn’t avoid them. They were rattling my walls until about 1AM.

Happy 4th of July Faye! Dancing in a parade sounds like fun. My cousin is visiting me from NYC tomorrow and staying over till Saturday afternoon. I know we're going out for dinner. No local fireworks in my town, so we might watch it on TV.

@FayeHazel Pretty decent. It did and went by so fast. She left this morning and should be back home soon. Nope. But we did see fireworks from my patio though.

@JustBhem Thanks for asking - walked in a parade - and then spent the day with my parents. Saw the fireworks from quite a distance with them It's alright that way - no crowd to deal with

@YrNemo Ah true that. I read some postings - the cities around here, for the most part have done their fireworks, but private people keep shooting off fireworks for about another month or so. So people are posting because the continued fireworks keep the animals upset
