Liberals are Patriotic, Too!

As a liberal American who believes in taking care of people, improving working conditions, encouraging wage increases which at least keep up with inflation, and promoting the right of people to purchase reasonably priced healthcare, I get offended when some of my friends, and well as strangers on Social Media sites, make disparaging comments about the patriotism of liberals and progressives. Most of us actually want to see life get better for the common people, not just the wealthy. Most of us want to protect the environment, so people do not die premature deaths because of air pollution, or suffer the loss of their property because of wildfires and rising sea levels. Most of us want to see laws which protect children, mothers and workers. What is unpatriotic about those wishes? So ... to all my fellow liberals and progressives out there, HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!
