Hello everyone. I am watching a new TV show at Fox channel. The TV show is called 911. I remeber having watched this show when I was younger so I am happy to watch something like that again. I learn a lot especially the medical aspect and also what to do on emergencies. One case now was a man calling 911 telling tgem there is something inside him. The fire department went to see him. Then his tummy get uosets again so they brought him to the hospital. While on the ambulance the man complains something is underneath his leg. So there's a tapeworm trying to get out of him. The tapeworm after getting it out measures 6-7 feet and almost half an inch in diameter. Whew. That was long. Apparently the man and his partner is a regular sushi eater (3-4x a week). I never knew tapeworm cab grow that long.

YES, eating sushi is dangerous, but people can get the tapeworm only if they eat raw salmon.from the Pacific coast.

@rakski I eat sushi but not with raw fish, I eat sushi with avocado and crab (that is not raw). Only salmon causes tapeworm, but other kind of fishes causes other kind of worms.

@minx267 oh my. Same here when I saw the paramedics taking it out nice and easy. According to the paramedics, it should not be cut while getting it out because it can crawl back again inside and regenerate. Oh my Lord.

That is why, I don't like to eat sushi and sashimi. I don't want to have that on my stomach because of eating raw fish and meat.

@rakski My daughter though likes it. When we were in Vikings MegaMall last December 9, when the ManCom members went there to attend the corporate Christmas party then, the next day our boss treated us all including my daughter, she first got those maki and shrimp tempura (which I like too) then ate sashimi. Eww!

I don't like sushi, but my daughter likes sushi. Sometimes she makes her own sushi. The materials used are cooked food.

This is why I prefer cooked food, I can't risk having those worms inside of me. Thank you for the post, I'll remember not to eat sushi.

Sushi isn't the only way you can get tapeworms. I'm glad they were able to extract it from him.
