I Nearly Lost It

I am usually rather good at keeping track of my stuff. But when it comes to my cell phone, I have a habit of putting it into the rider basket of the shopping cart, which my wife normally graciously takes up a careful watch over—probably partly because I am always asking her when we're out shopping, "Do you have my phone?" So, we were checking out and as we were waiting our turn in line my wife and I were talking and she was holding onto my phone the whole time. We left, and headed to another store, and I went to reach for my phone. "Do you have my phone?" I inquired as per my usual. "I thought I gave it to you." "You did not." Luckily the two stores we went to were close by, actually almost in the same parking lot even, so we went back to the cart corral to check the carts and the phone was not there. I looked in the back of my truck so see if it slipped off the console or something, or if I had laid it down when I was putting the bags in. Nope, not there either. Turns out it WAS in the shopping cart, and miraculously they had snatched up our cart in that short time and put it back in the store. I was happy to have found it... I nearly lost it in more ways than one.

Us too. Besides the fact it was a work phone so I would have to tell the boss about it. That could have gotten ugly.

My phone has a case that holds my id, debit and credit card and one loyalty card. It also has a part to hold money. I would go beserk if I was to lose my phone. I used to have the habit of putting my phone in the cart. I stopped that once I bought this case.

Yeah, I know a lot of people with those kinds of cases. My sister included. I'd never want my money or debit card anywhere but in my wallet in my back pocket.

@porwest I don't like carrying a purse and carrying just a wallet I feel is a lot more dangerous. I used to carry just my wallet but I always had the fear of losing it that way. I'll never get into these pay systems where you tap a system and it pays the cashier so the phone wallet does the job for me.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Me either. I prefer to stay old fashioned. Even keeping credit cards and stuff like that on a clip on the back of the phone case which my sister and brother in law does makes me think that is a recipe for disaster.

I'm so glad you were that lucky. I keep mine in my wallet in my purse and of course I miss all the calls I get while out and about.

I'm glad you found it. It's my wallet I put there when I'm shopping, and have left it there only to get a call from the store when I got home. I didn't even miss it. So, now I make certain I have it with me at all times.

I put mine in the same part too. there wsa one time that I set it on the counter while checking out at Walmart, I had to run back in and get it, because I had only had the phone for about 2 days

Hi Jim. Still nice to know there are good people. But next time, you might not be so lucky. So be careful always.
