Was I too sober when I recorded this song?

I have a song on YouTube that's disappointing me a bit. It's getting fewer views per month than most of my YouTube videos, and it has the only "dislike" I've ever gotten. It's an "original," and i actually like it. But I have to get the mojo right.
When I play this song at "jams," I'm usually a little tipsy, and I "ham it up" to make it fun. I sometimes do my best Elvis imitation (not very good) and get others involved.
In this recording, I sang it pretty straight, and was not overly intoxicated. Perhaps that was a big mistake. One (real world) friend commented that I sounded like I was singing in someone's kitchen. At least he was honest. So maybe I can blame the recording quality, always a crap shoot.
Feel free to give me honest feedback. My criterion for a successful song (by me or anyone else) is that it makes you want to keep listening. Does this one make you want to say "sounds decent" and turn it off?
Man, this could be hard on my ego. But, in my old age, I'm trying to let go of "ego."

Sometimes, those who care about you are reluctant to give a bald-faced opinion, too.

@DaddyEvil That's very true. I have a friend who is working on a song that I simply don't resonate with. When he asks me for advice about it, I'm fairly honest, but I never say "scrap it"!

I like it. Had me tapping my feet while listening. The recording quality could use some improvement. I ended up listening to your other songs for comparison. Do you have the lyrics for the "moth song"? Your voice was crisp and had a rich timbre compare to the way you sang in "Sometimes"

Yeah..same thing...I think I asked him to improve the recording quality in this one. I am not a trained musician, and much less knowledgeable in western music. He did improve it...but I guess I should have pestered him some more. His voice has a rich timbre...exactly. Very nice voice.

I listened without headphones on my smartphone and think it sounds great. It has a great beat and the Lyrica are a great touch even for those of us who know the language.
Are those a lot of the kids you work with?
Hmm, you let the horse out of the bag for now we know who you are, maybe, horse.
How do people generally find your songs, Colin? Just from YouTube or other ways or links. Sometimes it might trailer time for the views to build as I've learned from an article I wrote in 2013 that finally reached over 100,000 views just this month.
I have one other orders but my daughter is waiting on me so maybe I'll come back to share later.
Btw, this comment came by way of de

@Jessabuma Did you think the recording quality was "off" on this one?

I think it does need work on the recording, but I think it was a good song.
