Does anyone of you joined a free cycle group? For those who don't know, a free cycle group is a group whereby people will give away things that they do not or no longer needed for free so that others can benefit from it. Are you normally the contributor or the people whom accept the free stuff?

Almost work the same way, except that you give the stuff to people who need it within the group. It can be either a FB or a line group

This is a donation of items that you do not need and give to those who need it for free.

I do seem to belong to a recycling group although I've never joined one. Usually it is my family who want something, whether I was done with it or not...

I'm part of a group but don't use it much anymore. I have given and taken, but I get tired of promising things to people who don't bother to show up when they say they will.

This is a true waste. And the other person whom wanted it in the end had to buy a new one.

Do you buy from charity shops to drive up the donation amount.

When I have someone leave stuff from a rental house I set it out by the road with a FREE sign, it gets gone fast. Whatever is left after a day I take to the thrift store and donate. I usually give to people but more to the thrift store to get rid of it right away.

I was a member of the local one for awhile but then it got ridiculous--people would just agree to take anything offered. . . it was clear that they were going to re-sell it. That was when I left the group. I liked the idea of it--helping others. I wasn't looking to have other people profit off of my crap though. I would rather throw it away.

I do have same old people getting things from others. Not that we mind but they should give a chance to the other people whom need and will be taking the items for the first time. There are also some whom take it for granted that they have the rights to take whatever we offer and even expect us to pay for the transport to send the things to them.

I am not in a special group but I do give things away to organizations that will redistribute them to the poor.
