I Got Bit!!!

A couple of weeks ago, something bit me. Mosquitoes are always attacking me, so I never gave it any thought, until it just wasn't healing. So, I tried every thing on it and it just wasn't getting any better. So, my husband suggested I put a potato poultice on it. I've done that for several nights and one day I even put tape around the potato, so the potato would stay in place. It's much better now!!! The hubby told his mom that I was bitten by a spider (whether it was a brown recluse, we don't know) and the hubby said she got "happy" about that until he said he made a remedy for it and it's better!! Apparently she was hoping the spider would have killed me!!! ~Peace~

That looks very unpleasant, and I hope you are joking about your mother in law

I read an article about home remedies for things like bites, warts, stings, skin tags, etc. I have had a skin tag on my forehead for a long time. I finally buckled down and tried a more extreme method with apple cider vinegar leaving the cotton ball on all night with a band-aid and it actually shriveled up and fell off. I am thrilled about that. Next I work on the wart on my thumb.

@BarBaraPrz Someone told me their grandmother tied a string around it and pulled it tight until it fell off. I like the method I used a lot better.

Someone told a friend of mine to give the skin tag a quarter-turn twist every day and it would fall off. I know she tried it, but I don't remember if it worked or not.

I'm assuming you put a slice of potato on it, not a whole potato... Glad it's helping you. Something bit me on my arm and it was itchy for almost two weeks. And then something else bit me just under my eyebrow but it healed up in a couple days.

Yeah, you'd be surprised how a natural remedy works better than anything @STOUTjodee .

Was it painful? BEcause I would be freaked out if a bite that huge was hurting, I would drop everything and go to an urgent care or ER. I love spiders, but I don't want to be bit by them.

The funny thing is that it wasn't painful!! When it first bit/stung me it hurt for a bit. Apparently though if a recluse spider bites you, you have to be concerned with not feeling anything!!!

So it was a spider bite? This is a new thing for me to know that potato poultice works well on a spider bite! What to say about your MIL...?

I can't help thinking you should get that checked out by a doctor or nurse.
