Went on a trip...

I needed lace to finish up a cross stitch project, but there are no fabric/craft stores in the town where I live, so I had to print out a bus schedule to get to the next town over. The first bus was one that just went around town. The second was one that went around the county. I hadn't taken the county bus for years, so I wasn't 100% sure where to get off. The driver told me he'd call out the stop, but I still got off at the wrong spot. After some walking around I asked a lady on the sidewalk where JoAnn's Fabrics was, and at first she pointed me in a direction that I was pretty sure was wrong, but then she corrected herself, realizing she'd been thinking of another store. So, after a bit more walking I finally found the fabric store, and once in I had a little trouble finding lace. Being in the store made me a little sad, as it was somewhere Mom and I frequented quite a bit. After I asked an employee where the lace was, she showed me. I wound up getting the ends of two spools of lace, which wound up being 3 and 139/500 yards altogether. I had brought my phone and since I didn't know where to catch the bus from there to home, I called a Lyft. At least now I can finish that project. So, that was my adventure for today. I hope that you have had a good day/evening/etc. so far in your part of myLot land !

What a bummer there's no craft stores in your town. We have a JoAnn's Fabrics and a Michaels in my town, but Michaels is on the other side of town from where I live. I hate taking the bus to the next town over when I am not sure exactly where to get off, but I have done it before. I am glad you safely reached your destination and got home with no problems. I'm sorry being in the store made you feel sad and miss your mom.

Yeah, Mom always used to talk about how there were no craft/fabric stores in town, and every time someone built a new shopping center she'd say something like: "I hope they build a big fabric store there."

@xstitcher I am actually surprised that we have two here. Our town lacks in other areas -- we have no book stores, no toy stores, and only one office supply store. If you want to buy a new computer, you either have to order one online or buy from Walmart. All they keep building here are banks and fast food places.

nice day you got there. At least you got the lace that you need. By the way, nice cross stitch there.

Well I'm glad you found it after all even after the little mishap. I hated taking buses as you never know where they pickup and drive off. I'm glad i drive on my own.

Thank you, April, it will get done. I just need some "steam" back.
