I Missed Out

For various reasons, two to be exact, I didn't go to the annual get together my dad's side of the family always has on the fourth of July. My sister sent pictures of my niece having fun, and as always, I can't get enough of her. Amyra, my niece is on the left, the little girl in the stroller is my second cousin, Iris. The little blonde boy is a child one of my older cousins was babysitting, and he hit it off with Amyra. The little red head boy on the far right is Jay, the older brother of Iris.
All of the kids were getting ready to go swimming, but they paused for pictures. Doesn't Amyra look adorable in her swim cap? I missed that stinker. Her seventh birthday is today, July sixth. When was your last family get together, and did you go?

Unfortunately my family didnt have too many get togethers since my stepfather passed in 1994. We used to all spend christmas holidays together before that. He was the glue that kept our family together I guess.

How cute..we had a family gathering for my nephew's college graduation party..and I went, yes. It was really very nice. I was surprised how many people turned out.

@AmbiePam I do enjoy my family get togethers . . . it's always at my parent's house (always will be "home" to me), our family, my parents, and sister and her hubby. It's relaxing anyway. I just feel sad my kids do not have any cousins (or other kids to play with). But I do not particularly enjoy Hubby's family get togethers . . . everyone interrupts each other, certain people are snooty and rude know-it-alls, I won't get into it all but there are so many balls of issues I don't care to deal with. But the good thing is their get togethers are often short!

We had a family gathering on the 4th and it was very nice. Amyra looks so confident and ready to take on the pool lol

Its too bad that you missed the gathering, I always feel awful after missing a family get-together also. All of the smiles and fun in this picture show that it must have been a great time. She's really growing isn't she? She has a beautiful smile.
