Good evening to all. My chores are done and I am seated in front of the television and watching Day 6 of the Wimbledon open wherein Rafael is playing against De Minaur. The usual moans and shouts from Nadal is the only sound heard while he and the other player exchange hitting the tennis ball. I am eating my share of the chocolate which I had 2 weeks ago. I have to finish this 6 - square pieces because another pack of this kind is divided into three again and my share is kept in the fridge. I then noticed that the expiry date of this chocolate will be on the last day of this month. Which means I can still eat it. By the way, Rafael leads 3-2 in second set,and 1 set to love. Do you still eat foods that are nearing its expiry date?

I surely eat expired coffee or chocolate, the taste is not the best, but there is no danger.

@ridingbet I buy coffee beans, they are roasted and perfectly safe to use even several weeks after the expiry date. They lose a bit of their aroma.

hahaha. us here too. because we are only 3 at home and the chocolates are divided in 3s, i find it hard to finish my share in one sitting, so my share stays in the fridge so long that it sometimes is overdue. but i eat, unless the fresh viands bought in a store, where they get stale when not placed in the fridge

even the 'best before' reminder, i think it is still good to eat. some of the canned goods sent by my brother are nearing their expiry dates that is why we open some. like 3 days ago, i opened a flat can of sardines in sunflower oil, and i ate it alone.

Not even chocolate? There is no danger at all even if it's expired, only the taste suffers a bit.

really? then maybe when you buy your food, their expiry dates should not be in a week's time, right?
