Broken down on the side of the road

Another vehicle at the preschool has broken. This one is an Anchor Steam beer truck. I don't know if the kids know it's a beer truck.
It's going to be a difficult fix, as the wheel has broken clean off of the dowel that holds it. I'm trying to drill little holes in the dowel and the wheel so I can use a bit of a paper clip as reinforcement. But the dowel keeps splitting.
Anyway, that's my project for this Sunday. Once I get as far as I can, I will visit the pool. I finished Robbie Robertson's autobiography and will have to find a new book to accompany me. Any suggestions?

@JohnRoberts Yep. I read Levon Helm's book years ago. It was interesting to get Robertson's perspective.

I am reading a book I just looked at the title and checked it out of the library, the which way tree, its pretty good.
