Working on it being a scorcher

The temperature today is not bad considering its July. We've been enduring a lot of wind gusts lately. And its dry. Typical for us at this time of the year. I woke to the news that West of me there is a fire. The fire has closed the highway, Interstate 90. This highway takes a person over the Cascade mountains and to places like Seattle and the smaller city Tacoma. I admire all those firefighters out there battling the thousand acre blaze. Its in the Vantage area- known for high winds because its close to the Columbia river. We are supposed to get thirty mile an hour gusts. That means Vantage could get up to fifty miles an hour wind gusts. Not hilarious when it comes to stopping fire. My thoughts and prayers are with all those fighting this scary disaster. I'm sorry for anybody trying to drive to Seattle. Those folks will need to drive up north and over on the snakier highway 2, heading over Stevens Pass. It could be a very long day for some truck drivers. God bless them all on their journeys.

That is not good at all. It wasn't that long ago when you had fires to your north, right? I feel so sorry for all the wildlife that has been displaced and now they will face doom because the only places for them to go are human inhabitants, so horrible for all of us. I hope they get a handle on that blaze sooner rather than later.

@rebelann I believe there is a fire up north at this moment. The one that closed off I-90 has been contained enough that traffic can get through.
