How many of you have had the measles, mumps, etc.?

I had the measles and sure I had the mumps and all the childhood diseases there were. I read just now in our online news that there was something about measles here in some parts of Israel that some of our soldiers and residents have gotten them. Have any of you had them as adults if you did not have them as kids and what was it like?

Nope. I was vaccinated as a child. I had what is called "fifth disease" for which there was no vaccination for. I don't remember anything but a strange rash and not being able to go in sunlight. I also had chicken pox. . . TWICE. There was no vaccination for that when I was a child either. There is a vaccination for measles, mumps, and German measles (rubella). There is no reason for parents to NOT have their children vaccinated against those deadly viruses.

@Hannihar It was awful. I was so ill, and my older son had a broken arm at the time. My younger son came down with the measles first, but the doctors kept us away from our older son, so he wouldn't get chicken pox. Thank goodness for my friends and my husband! They did everything for us.
I had the chicken pox and measles when I was a child, but didn't get the mumps until I was a young adult. I was very sick with them, there is a reason why they call it a childhood illness, and I can attest to that! I was bed-ridden for about a week, with a very high fever which zapped my energy level as well as my appetite.
