20 INCHES!

It is summer, it is hot, and also it was time for a change.
Every year or so I like to do a dramatic change in my life because around this time of year I get severely depressed. So I clean out my closet, I dye my hair, I cut my hair! I do something that will just change an appearance of something to make life a bit more living.
And so my mom helped me cut my hair!
In the picture it shows the longest part of my hair at 17 inches, but we cut off a bit more and that was almost 3 more inches. And get this...My hair is still long!
I can still put it in a pony tail.
I feel so much better. It is so fun to play with and I get less knots.
I loved my long hair because I felt like some nature goddess because it is so wavy but it got so gross because it knots up so easy and my hair is very thick.
But now it is to just my mid back and so it is still long and it is super wavy now and it is so fun to play with. Because of all the humidity lately my hair gets puffy and I look like I got out of a concert. If I can be a nature goddess might as well look like I had a good time at a show!

Sleep with wet braids, that is what my mom does, it helps haha

My hair is like yours, but I've decided not to cut it .. at least not yet. Especially since it's thinned a bit from having so many knots to brush out.
Are you planning on dying yours anytime ontop of the cut

@DesirousDreamer right I have to be able to put mine up, as its in a ponytail or bun most the time. especially in the summer.
I have 4 hair dye boxes here, if you were close id give you them. and if you used them, cool. if not, you'd have them for another time. 
I go to the hair salon to do mine, have been for about 7.5 years now. but before I first did, I had a friend dye my hair black, and I liked it but wasn't crazy over it - and neither was my bf when we met LOL. so I went back to my light / medium brown that I have always been. and don't plan on dying it any other color again, unless I do the temp pink or something. though that would only be like tips.

I have been debating on cutting it for a while and then my mom kept saying things about my hair like joking about getting it cut and I think that was a hint that she didn't like my hair haha she does that sometimes and so I finally decided to do it but I still wanted to be able to put it in a pony tail.
I don't know, dyeing is always expensive, I used to have black hair for many many years and I adored that, but ehh I like my hair color now.

I love long hair but it is very much a hassle. I don't use too much shampoo in my hair since I use a 2 in 1 and when I wash my hair too much it gets greasy.

I feel your pain with the humidity and gross ness. My hair isn't as thick as yours but it still knots up, and its been a pain while my arms in a cast because i cant putitup.

I would die if I could not put up my hair. I mastered the put up my hair with on hair with a hairclip, but never a hair tie.

I like your hair.
My hair is all the way to my butt, if not a little more now. I have considered getting it cut but I am not sure yet. I braid my hair into pig tails and that helps me keep cool and easier to sleep with.

Why were you depressed? wow maybe that's what I should do. I'm feeling that depression since i lost my pups recently. Well, I actually cleaned our back yard and disinfected it.

Just having so bad memories of 2 years ago, some nasty stuff that happened a couple months ago, and I also have manic depression that happens on a whim.

Up until the 8th grade I have hair down to my waist and in braids. Then I decided I didn't want to fuss anymore and cut it shoulder length. Now I cut my own hair and keep it up to my shoulders. Much to hard to work with very long hair. You have very nice hair.

I like girls with long hair. But definitely, hair must dance with the season right now, if cutting hair makes someone comfortable then go for it.

Guys are only allowed to like long hair if they are willing to brush it for the girl haha because long hair is a pain to take care of.

A long hair can feel heavy, as I do feel now with my hair. 
Have you not experienced having your shorter than above the shoulder style. I think it will also look good on you, because you have a pretty face.
