Blue Lights And Sirens

I will admit that I do drive a little faster than most women and that I do sorta of drive through yellow lights ( @Juliaacv ) from time to time.
So, today I am on the interstate minding my own business driving to an appointment, In the fast lane but everyone was ....speeding?! When I looked up and there was a state trooper inches from my bumper with the blue lights on and then he wanted to make sure I was scared so he cut on the siren.
Tony was saying "pull over!!" So I put on the blinker, looked back and got over to the middle lane, next was battling the semi`s to actually get to the side of the road.
As soon as I got into the middle lane, the trooper flew past me! I am sure I began to breathe again.
Why was I relieved? I was doing 86 mph in a 70 mph zone and that would have been a huge fine to pay.
About 5 miles up the road, since I just carried on after he got around, He was stopped on the right side of the road but on the left was a Mercedes driving really slow, in all the tire litter and junk that is on the interstate.
I wondered of that car was stolen.
That was my "whew!" moment of the day. How was your day?

Hmmmmm, maybe I won't go so fast next time I'm on I10, the speed limit here is 60mph and mostly I do about 80mph, not really fast in my opinion but I'm betting the sheriff would love to ticket me if they can catch me. Yikes, I couldn't outrun them if I tried and I wouldn't try no how.

86 is crazy fast. I get nervous if I get up near 80 without realizing it. I'm always looking for troopers, marked or unmarked, when I'm on the parkway. I like using the Waze app on my phone too. That helps to give me a heads up for speed traps.

@andriaperry oh hell no. I could never do that. The thought of a tire blowout stops me. 80 is the fastest I ever get and that is when I’m not paying attention. I try to stay at 70-75 on the parkway. The speed limit is 65.

Good lord. That's fast. Lol, I actually do a little under the speed limit usually. I'm pretty cautiously.

I admire you. I drive like a tortoise. My day was fine, I just stayed indoor as it was warm outside. Drive safe, aite.

I guess OK, considering I had to go to the dentist. You are darn lucky you didn't get a ticket if you drive over 80 here in VA you can be charged with reckless driving, and could potentially go to jail..Use cruise control!

I would've been so relieved also to not get a ticket & to know he was after someone else. I always speed too and so does my sister. I have yet to get a ticket though.

@andriaperry you are very lucky then, and hope luck continues your way. I know plenty of people that have gotten more then 1 ticket i just laugh.

Knock on wood, I have not either, I have been pulled over and my license ran but I have never got a warning or a ticket.

That's quite a story!
I don't just blow thru red lights though, I have been known to fly thru the yellow, or light green as I prefer to call them, also. You might do the same.
Its that July 20th thing, isn't it? 
I am glad that you did not get a ticket.
I have to find time tomorrow to go and pay mine.
Its been a really busy week, but I have to pay it by the 15th, which is on the weekend.

@andriaperry We're going to be investing in a dash cam for each of our vehicles. There are too many people who will randomly come to a complete stop to get you to rear end them, which is how the chain reaction accident occurred that my husband was in, and there are so many pedestrians who will look totally engaged in doing something on their cellphones at corners and just walking, not really paying attention to the traffic around them or the walk/don't walk signs. They are just begging to be hit (lightly) and then they've got you in court and you're paying forever. Its a sad world when people want and get things this way.

They had something more important to take care of, I wonder what happened that prevented them to give you a ticket. More than 10 mph above the maximum here is not only a fine, it's a suspension of the driver license for 6 months. I always keep an eye on my husband, he speeds too much.

Oh wow, 6 months! here they only do that to repeat offenders. They had stopped and was checking out the Mercedes.
