Who Are They?

Rich soul quote
July 11, 2018 11:28pm CST
Hi all. Do tell me as a discussion, who are your role models up to date. However, give me 2 role models; one being the one who has passed on and another who is still alive. My first role model was my late brother. He passed on in his late 40s, and was a good person when he was alive. He's the kind to always bring people together and keep loggerheads at bay, but yet never cause hatred between those who might not be able to see eye to eye on things. In fact, he always organized events and did not disinclude anyone. He listened to your problems without scrutinizing, listened to no whispers of rumors nor controversies and was a very fair person. He was also not selfish with material things and did not take sides just because one appears to be stronger or etc. He wasn't rich in wealth but extremely rich in soul; a rare trait, I must say. In my eyes, he was a true hero and may God bless his soul always. My second role model will be my step-brother. He used to be in prison but after being released, has become a better person. In fact, he threw away all his old friends whom landed him in prison, and now has a good family life. What I admire him for is that he doesn't use his gang status to impose on you should you have a differing view than him, or when he faced certain kinds of criticism. He is very level-headed, and worked his way up from scratch. What my late brother couldn't fulfill when he was alive, my step-bro did in the most responsible way. He is the living hero, and my legacy. He doesn't leave you behind, and understand that people come from different walks of life. Though his living condition is way better now, he treats my mom/dad with the most upmost respect, irregardless whether they are his paternal parents or not. He is ever-ready, and treats the lesser or equal the same. This is whom you call family. So, these are my role models. Now tell me your stories. Apologies in advance should I appear too direct in my replies or sound curt. I mean no harm but this is my answering style. Have a good day everyone and thanks for your answers.

@ihasaquestion I just want to first say I am so sorry for your loss. As for me....I don't really have a role-model who is no longer here so I'm sorry I can't answer that but to replace it, I will give you two people who are alive who I look up to and they are my best friend from Texas and my best friend from India.

I was so skeptical given 3 posts and thought new comer 3 sentences and done. Well said, but to be honest to some of your comments you received and by your replies. Not sure people caught your question as is more of a summary of your thoughts on things and not a direct question to where people can give you an answer in the way you would have liked. I hope that makes sense. Me I am terrible on this subject and not sure how to answer.

I know I'm an old user with a new account, but please read my first sentence. If you are too lazy to read all, at least my question lies on the first sentence. Of course I can share my thoughts, no? Everybody appears to be melodramatic in their discussions at some point, so why can't I? Anyway, thanks for the compliment.

I admire my sister because she is a cancer survivor. She has such a upbeat personality and had a positive attitude during the whole cancer episode.

You have good role models. My role models - My late grandmother - my father's mother. She was the one who kept the peace in the home. Dad and Grandpa would always go head to head, and she would defuse the situation. She was also a Sunday school teacher, and practiced her faith. My best friend would be my other role model. She listens, offers suggestions, and is there.

My style is to meander and read entire posts as the mood strikes me. I then reply as I wish. Perhaps only to the title! I feel my style is not welcome here though I do like the topic.

@ihasaquestion When I choose to. Here it feels people are required to. I have had this reaction to others here. It's a me thing. My responses are my little soapbox to be on or off the main topic. Enjoy myLot your way. My mother was my role model but to say more would require thought and right now I need to get going.

@paigea Ok, P. You're cute. You best get going. Thanks for your time.

But you have no role models? It's not about style. I've seen your answers. You do answer as per the questions.
