Should we be concerned about the weather?

How is the weather where you are? Is the recent weather a sign or a symptom of something serious happening to the planet or is it nothing to worry about? Are we damaging the earth's ecosystems? What do you think?
All was quiet on June 22 as Canadian scientists David and Denise Holland settled in for the night off Greenland’s Helheim Glacier. But within minutes, five to eight billion tons of ice had broken off into the water.

climate change is a fact, there is now no doubt that we have messed it up despite what the Trump administration claims - we may have passed the tipping point already

We are facing some very hot weather. "This year already, Canada has experienced twice as many days above 30 C than it did during the entire summer of 2017." CTV News
Experts are reminding people to stay cool and hydrated as humidex values near 40 C in parts of central and eastern Canada.

Oh yes, we should be so concerned with the weather. That way, we can at least prepare what to do in case it gets worse. It is for our safety that we should always be prepared and concerned about the weather.

What you say makes sense to me. Being concerned and being prepared is the course of wisdom. "New data released by NASA shows that 17 of the 18 hottest years on record have occurred since 2001." CNN There must be a reason for this happening?

@SIMPLYD I'm not an expert but I see 3 things that give rise to concern: 1) The temperature is rising 2) The ice is melting 3) The ocean water levels are rising All three are very hard to dispute.

Here - near the Arctic Circle we have had extremely hot - about 30C and more.. Many forest fires are going on in Sweden.. It seems only God can help us to survive the global warming..

The climate change is more than real and a new source of natural disasters. We got recently a hailstorm with hailstones big like tennis balls that killed/damaged thousands of roofs and cars. Frankly, it is not normal to get a hailstorm in July, and nobody had ever seen hailstones so big. The miracle is that this storm killed only 1 person...

"New data released by NASA shows that 17 of the 18 hottest years on record have occurred since 2001." CNN That is a very revealing statistic. The weather has been getting hotter where I live. The winters are warmer and the summers are hotter. I don't need any studies on that it is clear to me. I would think that the automobile and forest fires have greatly contributed to this situation. What do you think?

@1hopefulman Prolonged drought and rarely rains can cause forest fires. This is very unavoidable and preventable. Therefore, the local people must be ready to respond to forest fires if the prolonged dry season has arrived. This is evident from the felling of trees around us for development. Everyone is encouraged to bring one tree seed to plant. If this is well planted it will probably reduce global warming.

@1hopefulman and to not do anything about it would be almost like turning a blind eye and letting people die of thirst, who could have and should have, been saved. Sinful and selfish would be the nature of those who ignore this issue and proceed to business as usual, like out of sight out of mind. If I see a person who asked for a drink of water I would give then water. it's that simple. Funny how if just one person leads a nation, so too can one person can potentially motivate a million people for a greater cause, to act on something, something that is, in fact, bigger than one's self.

@DianneN These deaths were all in my province which is similar to your state. I don't know what has happened in the rest of the country. This is definitely not normal for this area. I just came across this article. The hot weather is definitely a problem of late.
The president of Quebec's professional farmers' union says the province's hot, dry summer is affecting crops.

I think your assessment of the situation is a fair one. I also believe that global warming is true and that we will be affected more negatively in the coming years. Even though it is true, we will not do enough to improve the situation because of personal short-term interests. We have had more than 70 people die due to the extreme heat and it is not over yet.

@1hopefulman I would say "others are taken" and we have to immigrate there with some culture shocks thrown in. It is so much wiser to get our house in order just like I would tell some here to stay back than run away to alien culture unless one is prepared to adapt and prove worthy of the welcome - siva

Hasn't been so extreme this year!! But something is definitely happening!!! I'd like 2 see cities built green as they say with laws that reserve parkland and ensure trees R in the city!!! And preservation of important wild life reserves!!! Is there anyway to get rid of all the smoke and soot from factories and dangerous toxins!!!! The world's temps R definitely rising!!!

@FayeHazel I have come to this conclusion. The glaciers melting and breaking off and the hotter weather are symptoms. They are symptoms that man as caretaker of the earth is mismanaging looking after the planet and its resources. We lack the balanced ability to be indepent of God.

Our weather pattern here in New Jersey has remained basically the same the past number of years. I think we fractionally damage the earth's ecosystems, but whether it has caused a permanent climate change is questionable to me. Weather patterns have always changed over the decades and centuries. I am sure others worry we destroy the earth and blame it on pollution. Heck, we could change orbit or get hit by an asteroid before a disaster like climate change happens...
