Thanks to @loriamoore I was reminded of some of the funny things I got to listen too whenever dad took us to see his folks.
I'm still not sure who laughed the most.
Did you understand this?

The photo I used is of my sweet Spunky, he lived 17 years with me and I still miss him, he was such a sweetheart.
Telling this bedtime story backwards to your kids will get their attention! Featuring Archie Campbell and Roy Clark.

I got to listen to him on the radio back in the early 1960s when dad used to drive us to his folks in the summer @velvet53 they lived in Mineola TX which is about 715 miles from here so we had plenty of time to listen to the radio while dad drove.

I grew up watching Hee Haw. My folks tuned in every time it was on.

@rebelann I didn't mind all of the singers that they had on the show. Most of the jokes I didn't get because well, I was young and they were way over my head. If I see a rerun now I am amazed that my parents let me watch the show but I guess they figured I was too young to realize what was going on so it did not matter.

I didn't know their jokes were racey @Shellyann36 Actually, I've only seen bits and pieces of a show or two because I was visiting someone who was watching it but otherwise I have never seen a whole episode.

I suppose my English is somewhat confusing for you as well @jaboUK but I do have to say I am so glad I came across you because you have a way of explaining the differences which I would not have guessed otherwise.
You even wrote about it, I'm trying to find that post.

Spunky reminds me of my Spencer, who lived to be 15. I loved him very much and still miss him a lot!

@rebelann - He was a lovebug, and quite a mama's boy. When my husband came to kiss me, Spencer would meow in protest!

He is irreplaceable. I do have cats now but none of them are like Spunky, they each have their own personalities

Our Renaissance Festival has a man who tells stories backwards. It's so funny. I used to love watching Hee Haw. I didn't know that they had someone do story backwards.

Archie Campbell was a guest on that show, he'd been telling these stories long before Hee Haw was a concept and in the early 1960s whenever dad took us to see his folks he'd be on the radio with one of those stories, we all got such a good laugh out of him.
