watching Americas got talent

I love watching this because it is so entertaining and has something for everyone.
Just saw the toughest judge Simone give the gold tickets buzzer to a guy that well deserved it. Not only does he sing great from the heart but he and his wife have adopted several disabled children and gives them love and care they need. what a sweetheart.
Listening to him sing reminded me of the only opera singer I ever cared to listen to. When I was a small child, a few movies came out with Mario Lanza (in the photo) that I had a total crush on. I thought of this because in one movie he said a person sings good when they sing from the heart.
Which is strange since his heart is what gave out and he died after catching pneumonia in '59. Author Eleanor Kimmel said I quote , Lanza "blazed like a meteor whose light lasts a brief moment in time"
such a short career for a great singer.
Do you watch Americas got talent ? Did you ever hear of Mario Lanza ?

I have seen Mario Lanza movies. I have been to the Mario Lanza Museum in Philadelphia.

@bunnybon7 There is also one in France, one in Italy, one in Germany. I think that every European country has its own version. We are a small country but we also have "Switzerland Got Talent".

I sometimes watch AGT. I don't really like Simone. He is a buzz kill.

most of the time i don't like him but sometimes he makes it funny and some he buzzes are bad. i watch because it is such a variety of talent. btw, he is the one that golden ticket buzzed this guy right through to the finals. that means he really liked him a lot and the guy will get a chance at the million dollars.

I watch America Got Talent and Britain Got Talent on Youtube. I'm sure the guy you mentioned in your discussion is the one who had 6 foster children, right? He got the golden buzzer fromSimon.

When I was in the Navy in the early fifties.Was in Philadelphia hospital.He and Kathryn Grayson pay us a visit.They were promoting a movie that both of them were in.Mario Lanza had a great voice.But he was such a spoiled man.
Had marriage problems etc.Then he went down hill.I believe t here is a book on this.
No way compare to the great Caruso.lol

that may be true but he made a little girl and possibly a few more people listen to some opera even if they didn't care much for it. i am sure Caruso was best for true opera lovers. i had no idea there was a book but just the same no matter how bad in real life i appreciated his voice

I love the voice of Mario Lanza. Lanza and Caruso were my dad's favorite singers. I have never seen America's got talent but I see they have some episodes on YouTube I will check it out,

he is quite the character. but he has gotten much nicer over time i think. i watch because it is such a variety of singers, comediens, magic, and dancers. most quite good.

Singing from the heart is the best type of singing. There is a spin off of this show..India had got talent but I watch these shows only rarely.
