** spoiler alert ** This book was a Goodreads win. Emma Davis went to camp when she was 13 years old where 3 girls from her cabin went missing. The camp shut down after that. Fifteen years later the camp reopens and Emma is asked to be an art instructor at the camp. What happened 15 years earlier has haunted her all these years and she is determined to find out what happened to her three cabin mates. But the memories traumatized her and being back in the same location, the same cabin, brings it all back. And then... deja vu all over again. Who is responsible for the disappearance of the girls 15 years earlier... and the sudden disappearance AGAIN of the 3 girls in her cabin the second time around? What is a lie, what is truth? What an amazing thriller. I can't wait for the movie. I like the short chapters. I like how the story went back and forth from past to present and tied everything together in a nice little bow. Most of all I loved how we were led in so many different directions with no idea where we were going to end up. Could I predict the outcome? No way. I have to admit at times one of the directions we were led in worried me. And I don't like when everyone thinks the protagonist is crazy and doesn't believe her, but this story chipped away at that slowly and had me cheering Emma on KNOWING that she was not crazy. It was an awesome story, great thriller that kept me up late finishing the book, and can't wait for the movie. The details during the peak last couple of chapters were very descriptive (which is why I was wanting to see the movie). Sometimes too much description has me a little lost, but that's probably just me. I gave this story 5 stars (The original review for Goodreads and the publisher had more details which I have removed so as not to give away too many spoilers).

This definitely sounds like a book to be added to the TBR shelf. I am not sure I'll watch the movie as I can be a bit weird about that. Well written review as well.

My comment about the movie was because of so much description in the end that I found a little hard to visualize. I don't usually watch movies after I've read the book but once in awhile I do. There is one movie I watched and was a little confused so felt the need to read the book so asked for it for Christmas on year. I have it... at least it's in the house somewhere... but haven't read it yet. That's Charlie St. Cloud.

@patgalca I have not heard of Charlie St. Cloud. Personally, I feel as if the director of the movie is going to go in a different direction than what the author had in mind originally.

@ScribbledAdNauseum If I wrote a book that was proposed as a movie I would insist on input. Obviously long books cannot be fit into 2 hour movies and stuff or even characters have to be eliminated. Charlie St. Cloud starred Zac Efron. He had a girlfriend in the movie and it turns out in the end she was just a ghost... I think. That's why I want to read the book. It was quite a few years ago.
