Everything Goes Better With Peanut Butter

When I read about these combinations I thought I would share them with you and see what you think. Those of you from Australia can speak up and let us know if this is true or not. Australia has a great supply of avocados all year round and they have come up with some interesting ways to enjoy the fruit. One is to smash up avocado and spread it on toast with jam. It goes well with sweet jam. However, I have eaten avocado also with salsa and I liked that combination as well. Then, of course, there is the combination of avocado spread on toast and topped with peanut butter or peanut butter under the avocado. There are also plenty of mangoes and these are enjoyed with peanut butter. If you cannot get mangoes then you could try another combination which is sliced apples with peanut butter and a pinch of cinnamon to give it that perfect flavor. What do you think? Would you try any of these combinations?

I've never had avocados but don't think I'd like it with peanut butter. The only thing I like with peanut butter is jam/jelly and of course any mix of chocolate and peanut butter.

I think Peanut butter is more of an American thing although we do have it here. It is now very expensive to buy peanut butter in the UK. About $4 for a small jar! We rarely eat it. We like avocados and eat them with salad.

@garymarsh6 Gary I wrote exactly the same before reading your comment. Here in Europe nobody cares about peanut butter. Here you can only find it in specialty shops at a high price. I also like avocados, added to mixed salads.

I love both peanut butter and avocados but not together. My favorite is mashed avocado on a hamburger with raw onion, gorgonzola cheese, and bacon.

I love avocado. I recently found the cheapest but good quality for 1.25 plus tax at Whole Foods. I found out how to get to Whole Foods by bus the only way I get around. Locally in Hawaii, people pickle mangoes of Chinese mangoes. Some make jams with Hayden mangoes. I've been seeing mango slices preserved like cranberries in packages in stores that are pricey. As for avocados, I like bacon, tomato, avocado slices on toast. I like avocados in salads. Just a little before ripe, still crunchy slices or ripe slices of avocado with my salad. Guacamole made with avocados as a dip is delicious. When I was growing up Hayden or puree mangoes were sliced, just turning ripe, dipped in a soy -sugar-black pepper sauce to taste was a treat! Ripe avocados slices sprinkled with sugar was a welcomed dessert. Today I'm watching my sugar intake, so I sprinkle avocados with Stevia. How does this dishes sound?

@oahuwriter they all sound wonderful. I love avocado but right now the closest stores to me on foot are convenience stores. Once I get my Visa debit card from the bank I will order groceries online and that should include avocados so I will be set for a while.

Sure, I'd give any of them a go. For the most part I am willing to try anything once, and sometimes we get a bit of a surprise and find something quite tasty from it.
