Well I guess you are either living under a stone or really not interested in world events if you are not aware of the visit to the UK of Donald Trump. While some people are completely ignorant in their behaviour towards the President who technically is not here on an official visit but as a working visit which is completely different to a state visit. We were aware that there would be controversy surrounding his visit but some people have taken it a bit too far. Quite a few morons demonstrated in London and some wag organised a go fund me type collection to pay for a balloon to fly over London imitating a yellow/orange baby in the guise of Donald Trump. Whilst I do not agree with some of what he says I do believe he has made some changes that will benefit some Americans probably not all but that is not for me to say. You will have your own views on that. He has been treated with respect by the establishment meeting Mrs May in Blenheim Palace then at the Prime ministers country house Chequers. Then very briefly he met the Queen. He made some faux pas which was not unexpected but his biggest gaff was criticising Mrs May and her Brexit plans. The former President Mr Obama did irreparable damage to the UK when he threatened us of having no trade deals if we voted Brexit. The British will not be told to do anything especially from another head of state who was seen as interfering in the internal politics of a sovereign nation. I think his comments probably swayed people into voting leave. As a visiting head of state I do believe he should have been shown respect however these protests are not aimed at American citizens but rather at his dubious character. I hope our American friends appreciate that. He has made some quite controversial comments whilst he has been here. I guess he is not going to change for anyone and kudos to him but not to insult another nation whilst a guest in that country. I am glad it was not a State visit otherwise there would have been even more protests with him parading through the streets of London. Some of what he says is quite true but there are somethings he says are really not true. This visit has cost the tax payers a minimum of £30 million pounds in security alone which would have been far better off being spent on the care of the elderly! Tomorrow he will be gone and off to Iceland where I hope that he does not receive the same rude protests. In summary diplomacy is not his forte!

Irrespective of him being obnoxious he is trying to do the best for the USA. There are far more important issues that people should be protesting about. The rise in stabbings in London for example and the lack of police on our streets unless of course you are protecting an overseas president then there is no limit on the expenses!

@DianneN OMG what has he just done with Putin! I can not believe what has just come out of his mouth. I bet the Americans are raging! How dare he? Has he suddenly become senile?

He cannot expect people to be nice with him, because he is rude all the time. I think that the best should be to completely ignore him. I am against ridiculing leaders of other countries. Ignoring Trump would be the best way to show him that we do not consider him important at all.

@LadyDuck Yes it was supposed to be a low key visit rather than a full state visit. I shudder to think of the problems it would have caused had it been a state visit. There would have been terrible trouble in London.

Obama criticized Brexit, and while Trump continues to do so, his trade war is pretty much similar to Britain withdrawing from EU in a way. What he talks he does not understand. What he sits and does he does.

@garymarsh6 He always oversteps..LOL. He simply does not know how to talk. LOL. Nevertheless, he has his heart in right place in so far as his countrymen go. At least, it feels that way.

Well I think he was overstepping the mark at times! I know he has changed people in his cabinet more times than he has changed his underwear but it is not like that here!

Trump needs a filter and should have someone who is appointed in charge of his mouth and then and only then can he speak

I hope he doesn't receive rudeness again. Some people hate him so I think it can't avoid.

He would have seen some protesters and certainly if he reads the press but we always say what goes around comes around.

@garymarsh6 Although not a supporter of the Trump way of doing things, name-calling, ridicule and caricature are unlikely to bring about a better way. So glad the PM didn’t respond to his gaffs and insults like a tabloid headline writer.

She did remain composed as one would expect her to be but it was pretty insulting to suggest that Boris should be prime minister!

At least Trump seems to have the gut to do a few very weird things, which might benefit the US nation and its people. I do admire him for that too. (People all over the world, will always find something to protest about. They thought by doing that, they show signs of maturity! )
