The translation most of the 'Pied Piper' believer-herders preach to call people to fall in line: "Ye shall receive power (from the Holy Spirit)." I understand that 'the passage Brother Copeland justifies his "Three Steps to Taking Power from Jesus" with' (funnily, not the same passage as his 'Ye shall receive power'-quote which comes from 'Jesus after the resurrection, while the 'Taking'-process comes from before). The phrase that 'sets the tone' of https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=john+14&version=KJV;NLT;SBLGNT;NIV;NVT the pre-resurrection instructions is Jesus' 'Ask anything in my name and I will do it!' That (and the general 'stay passive unless you're a member of the royalty'-feeling I'm sure King James wanted his translators to promote) probably informs the translation 'receive' in Jesus' post-resurrection "Ye shall receive power," but the root-meaning of the Greek there can mean "receive" OR "take." I suppose the way Jesus means it is 'Ye shall have full ownership of the power of the Holy Spirit.' (You notice I described 'the three-step process' as "Taking" rather than "Receiving"-or-"Graciously accepting"-etc.) If I wanted to 'do a "tirade" on Brother Copeland's bending Jesus' words into the meaning that works in his favor," I could. But I think I'll look at it as if Brother Copeland's just 'telling it like it is.' You have to '1) keep His commands, 2) Speak "the" Name, & 3) Live the Love.' And Brother Copeland goes on a bit about how 'keeping His commands' isn't "sticking to the letter of God's law." It's more like 'being a Disciple (i.e. following the pattern of The Mentor).' Or--as The Gospel-Scripture says--"Let not your heart be troubled!"

That should be 'a condition you set on all the other "commandments" you receive from The Holy Spirit' (when you receive "an order from God," make sure it always includes the clause 'don't let it trouble you, but God says ...').
