Maybe you should make them at home and stop giving money to a corporation. Who drinks hot beverages with a straw?

People who don't want to smudge their lipstick apparently because that's WAY more important than saving the planet, right?

I don't think that they want to get rid of straws but make them from different, recyclable material.

I don't think anybody is saying straws are 'bad for U'. But they are bad for the planet. Which is really more important.

That's well and good for Starbucks who will financially benefit from eliminating the cost of straws (businesses never do anything for noble reasons) but what about the customer sitting there with an open container? Now that Starbucks is a public toilet facility where anyone can hang out indefinitely, who knows what will walk by putting God knows what into the air that will drift into your drink. I have seen "stuff" drift into open drinks.

Will there be a substitute? A straw keeps one's listick from getiing too smudged.

i think "Why Straws Are Bad For You?" it's not like you are going to a store, buy a drink, take a straw, finish the drink and then going to look for an ocean to throw the straw... right? if anyone destroying the invariant it's the companies! i think they should make it out of reusable plastic and in every store you can throw away the straw in a special garbage. they will melt it and make new straws.
