Looking back it looked meaningless

Looking at the Face Book friends list and having the aim to increase the number used to be something I always paid attention to. However, being wiser in my ways over a period of time I have realised what goes on there is hypocrisy. The likes one receives with accolades and praises I realised do not seem genuine. Also there is the tendency for real life contacts getting transformed in to virtual Family members I now notice prefer to be there but not in one's real life. I have now stopped going to Face Book and so it shall be.

I like fb for the ease of long distance connections. But some are there too much.

@allknowing I have family even out of country. But thanks to fb I know what her kids look like. The same with a few out of state. We are able to keep up more by sharing pictures and chatting.

I discovered that a long time ago. My only relations out of my close offline circle of friends are you, mylotters.

What disturbed me the most was family members preferred to be there and hardly interacted in the real world.

@allknowing This is the case now. When the family gets together, they are not talking to each other, but everyone is playing with their mobile phone.

I used to be hooked on FB and was very active there a few years back. I was obsessed with finding everyone from my life, past and present. It was fun catching up for a while, but eventually I came to the same conclusion as you . . . FB was a fake world. However with the family thing, if it weren't for FB, we probably would have never kept in touch . . . so for us, better to a virtual relationship than none at all.

@allknowing I suppose what little we do on FB still - that IS the contact. Though it's not the most personable way.

@much2say FB is definitely a platform to keep in touch with those who are not in our life but it is not nice when real people get there and only interact there

I did the same and posted feverishly. Then suddenly I realised most of my family got into my friends' list and that was it. No other contact.

It has been a long time that I never see anything on Facebook. I only check it if I have a message on my FB messenger. I also prefer to be here than being there.

I rarely use my Facebook account.. but I admit I was very addicted to it. I only use my Facebook messenger to communicate with my love ones and friends
