This is a new food innovation available for us consumers. Canned Sandwiches. it goes with four flavors. Peanut Butter and Jelly, chocolate,Chicken Barbecue and Grape Jelly. People are so lazy on preparing food now that they can't make their own sandwich anymore. Based on the reviews, The spread is delicious but the bread tasted like cardboard box and it felt dry and sandy in texture. If I am Lazy to make sandwich, I will just order Bahn Mi from a Vietnamese fast food.

@CaptAlbertWhisker The bread becomes "rancid" in a couple of days if kept in a box. I suppose they add plenty of chemicals to keep it fresh.

For me it's not gross, it's just that I don't want to spend more for something so simple and I enjoy doing. Another thing is I want control in how much I put on my sandwich and on some occasions there are specific brands that I like, it's like limiting my freedom.

@CaptAlbertWhisker It would probably be my last recourse if I'm in a survival situation like being trapped after a quake, a Yolanda like super typhoon or another Maute type extremist siege

@louievill Her review of the canned burger makes me laugh like a mad like hyena. She said she will rather eat paper.

My main problem with canned food is that it is far to have the same taste than fresh food. Due to the heating process most of the time the food is overcooked and tastes bad. Exceptions are rare. There are sandwiches sold in vacuum packages that can be kept up to 2 weeks, and salad still tastes like salad, so I wonder if there is really an interest to offer canned sandwiches. I would put these canned sandwiches high on my list of junk food to never try.

@CaptAlbertWhisker I agree, they are not bad even if they do not taste the same. I buy personally a few canned vegetables like salsifies and chickpeas because it is a big gain of time to have them already cooked.

There are times though when the canned version tasted better than fresh. I prefer canned peaches over fresh peaches but that is just me,

We have had sandwiches that were made up ahead of time in some deli's and other places. It is very convenient while traveling. There is nothing wrong with them. They cost more as they are all complete but I ate them on lunch break from work or school. This is not a new thing over here.

I would prefer to make my own sandwich - or eat something else. I haven't seen canned sandwiches in the local shops here, but I wouldn't buy them anyway.

The moment you open the can you will see silica gel packets. Those things are usually found in medicines.

I have to say, this just sounds disgusting. Besides, it is probably WAY more expensive than just making a sandwich from scratch. How lazy has the world become that one cannot even make a sandwich anymore? Yeesh.

The can is another garbage to harm the environment. I can understand more complicated sandwiches but jelly sandwich and P&J can be done by a 7 years old.
