I need some advice!

As some of you know, I was bitten. A feral kitten bit me. The wound wasn't serious. I went to ER and I had 2 shots. Vaccine against rabies and against tetanus. After the 2 vaccines I felt sick, very tired, my arm hurted so much that it seemed broken. I couldn't sleep well because of pain. Today I have to do another dose of vaccine against rabies. I watched the cat after she bit me. The kitten eats, drinks water. She doesn't seem to have rabies. With other cats it's not aggressive. The days after the vaccine were awful. I was dizzy, very tired, I had trouble swallowing, I stayed in bed all day, but I couldn't sleep. I had symptoms like flu. My body was in pain. I had headaches, nausea, I felt fainted. And so much more. Should I continue to do this vaccine? Or should I interrupt it?

Ask the doctor and follow his or her advice. I'd never ask laypeople on an internet site what I should do in case I had health problems-

I had the same reaction after my Rabies vaccination. I had to cancel my classes and stay in bed. It was more uncomfortable than I expected, but it didn't last for a long time. The symptoms you describe are common side effects from the Rabies vaccine. In your situation I would get the second Rabies shot in order to be fully protected, but I think that you should ask the doctor for advice.

@dya80dya It lasted a few days. The first day I was very ill and I had to stay at home, the second day it wasn't completely gone, but I felt much better. I didn't get ill after the first shot, the second shot was the problem in my case (that one made me ill)

@Porcospino Thank you. I think I should wait more. And today I will do the second shot. And ask the doctor if I should continue. I am scared that other side effects will appear. More serious ones.

Today I will ask the doctor. How long did it last? After your second shot did you feel worse? Or after all 5 shots? Or your body became used to the substance?

a rule of thumb when you are bitten by a feline or a canine, is to observe the animal for 10-14 days. if a quiet dog turns violent, or a violent dog turns soft and silent, then i guess the animal is infected with rabies. if you have trouble swallowing, or what we call dysphagia, please observe yourself if you are also afraid of lights. these are some early signs of infection. (please don't think i am bragging with my comments, i happen to be a health care provider. thank you.)

@dya80dya i think you are fine, but may i suggest that you still observe the cat in 2 weeks, and get the other injectable medicines required of you.

I have trouble swallowing, but this happened after the vaccine. I am not afraid of lights. Do you think I could be infected? The cat eats, drinks water. It's not aggressive.

Oh, dear! I cannot give you advice, but when I got a vaccination against flue, I had the same symptoms and they were normal. You can ask a person who makes injections for you

I asked the person and she said that it's normal to feel awful because my body is weak. After the flu vaccination did you have flu? Did it help?

@dya80dya No, although I worked with students and had around 200 children daily in my classroom, I did not have a flue. But I felt so bad after that injection that the following year I chose to be ill if necessary than vaccination. Get well soon

This happened because I wanted to help a cat. It had serious eye problems. Now the cat who bit me is blind. I saw her and she doesn't have eyes anymore. I am so sorry I wanted to help that cat.

you should ask your doctor. although i'm guessing he will say to continue. because you never know what really happened and where the cat was. it's gonna past and you will be able to forget about it with a 100% sureness that you are safe. if you gonna stop it's always gonna be in your head "what if". wish you to feel better
