Fresh bitter gourds from my garden

I have picked up these fresh bitter gourds from my terrace garden. I had the joy of harvest today.Going to prepare bitter gourd onion fry, potato and bell pepper curry and hot chapatis for dinner. Have to prepare dinner now and then take my younger one for her music class. Hope to catch you later.

@arunima25 I can understand that you could enjoy healthy home grown vegetables. It is interesting to hear that you could even grow bell peppers in your garden because bell peppers require conducive climate to grow.

All my home grown vegetables are too good and the best part is that they are organic. We enjoyed our yummy dinner. Even bell peppers were from my garden.

Yes it is delicious if you have a taste for bitterness of bitter gourd. Many people do not like it. It is a native Indian vegetable full of goodness especially to control you blood sugar.

Bitter gourds with eggs....sounds interesting!! I will give it a try someday.

@arunima25 it is nutritious. we would apply salt in the sliced bitter gourd so the taste is removed (the pungent taste), then we saute it first with garlic, onions and little amount of tomatoes, add the gourd, then when it is nearly cooked but still crunchy, we add the scrambled egg.

@amitkokiladitya I have lettuce, All greens..spinach,methi,mustard,red palak, corriander, mint etc.Other than that I grow underground veggies like sweet potato, radish, carrot and beet root. I also have spring onions right now. I have a small lemon tree and few chilli plants. I want to grow more of them but we have monkeys visiting frequently to our terrace.

It is my hobby. So I do not bother about the extra work. And I have a gardener who comes once in a week and that is a big help.
