Annoying Little Ants

When I was in the kitchen earlier I don't even know what made me look at the dogs bowl. Something caught my eye and when I bent down and looked closer I saw that the bowl had a bunch of microscopic little ants. They are so tiny I had to look really hard to even see them.
Now I wonder where did they come from? I looked at my sliding door because this is a place where they tend to come in but so far I haven't seen any. My dogs bowl is only about 10 feet away from the door so now I'm perplexed. No ants by the door or around that part of the kitchen.
Guess I'll have to do my usual baking soda trick and sprinkle some around the door. Whenever I have had a issue with ants this did the trick.
I'm hoping I don't see any more but I'll definitely be on the look-out for those little buggers.

@GardenGerty We are in the car a lot and we do take meals in the car but I am wondering when or where they live to get in the car.

Even I have noticed the size of ants being microscopic. I saw them in our sugar bowl. I emptied the bowl and brushed away those ants. I also see them all over the kitichen. I sprayed NOTIX and now they are gone They indeed are a nuisance.

You almost need a magnifying glass to see those little critters.

I bet that turmeric will give those ants a big surprise if they taste it

I'm sorry you had ants in the dog's bowl. I hadn't heard of the baking soda trick. I also know cloves works very well. It's poison for them, and kills them. I poured some ground cloves on an ant once to see what it would do. It killed it.

@Marilynda1225 One nice thing about cloves is it gives off a pleasant fragrance.

When I was first married the first time we lived in a mobile home. The ants would come up the side of the trailer, in at the bottom of the sliding door, up the wall in the crease from the ceiling and out the other side. I also had others that came in and got in my steam curlers and steam iron. I would spray outside and it would last until it rained again. Now I use diatomacous earth, or corn meal.

As much as ants are a nuisance it amazes me how they can climb and their determination

I get some of those in here from time to time. They seem to go in streaks. I haven't seen any for awhile..knock on wood..maybe they are gone.

This is the first I've seen them too and I was quite surprised. Hopefully they are gone now and won't come back

So far they have gone and I'm hoping they don't come back. I also don't leave the dog bowl on the floor anymore

I've used vinegar and I've used salt. I don't know that I've ever used baking soda but I will try this the next time.
I have a relative who pours soap on them but that doesn't do anything but make it hard to clean up.
