Polar Opposites

My dad was once talking about two brothers, and how they were so different. So I asked if they're as different from each other as Mindy (my sister) and me. His eyebrows raised he replied, "No siblings are as different as Mindy and you." That may explain why I don't feel like my sister liked me much. It's funny, when we were kids, despite being two years apart, and her having brown hair, and me having very blonde hair, people often thought we were twins. What are the similarities and differences between you and your siblings? How many siblings do you have, if any?

I have 3 siblings. My younger sister and I are 2 yrs apart as well and people thought we were twins too. We are completely different though. I am more laid back and patient.

I was the oldest of 4. There are three of us now. I don't think we're anything alike, but at least we get along.

I have 3 brothers, we are all at the most 1 year apart in age. We resemble each other, but nobody ever said that I looked like one more then the other. The younger 2 boys were the same size for a couple of years while they were growing up, and they were mistaken for being twins although one was fair and the other dark.

I have four sisters and one brother. All my sisters and brother have blond hair and mine was dark brown. We are somewhat similar but we all have our own beliefs and personality. We disagree on religion and politics but we get along together anyway. We love visiting each other and talking on the phone.

I have (had) 4 siblings. My brother Tim is 4.5 years older than me, sister Val is 9.5 years older, sister Laura 14 years older and my late brother Peter was 15 years older. I am not close to them because of the huge age gaps. But when I look at them individually I can say with complete certainly that they all have different personalities. Tim and I fought a lot but that's because it was only us 2 at home from the time I was 9. But I remember telling my mom once that we were all raised in the same home with the same parents so they didn't do anything wrong. Each child has their own individual personality. My sister that is 14 years older than me has her birthday the day after mine. I find our personalities are very similar. You may or may not think that is a coincidence but I think that speaks volumes.

The simple reason why I interact here is because my siblings and me are poles apart We have nothing in common. and so nothing much to talk about

I have two. My brother is deceased but we were never close and quite opposites. My sister and I are probably more alike than we are different but our being so much alike is a bad thing. We are both somewhat private people. We are both the queens of our own space and prefer it that way. We didn't get along very well as children but then we both shared a bedroom until I was around twelve years old and got my own room. I hardly ever hear from her or her children for that matter.

My brother is 19 months younger and until I was about 7 years old people thought we were twin. May be we looked alike, but there is nothing alike in our way to think and act. We are not very close.

I have 4 children (adults now) and the first three are girls with my son being the last to arrive. My oldest daughter and middle daughter are as different as night and day (only 20 mos apart in age). In fact my middle daughter is so unlike her sisters and brother that we always said she was switched at birth.

I have 3 sisters and 3 brothers, not all by the same mother or the same father. I have one sister that we have the same parents. We are all so different. I am the only one that works for myself, all the others worked for or does work for others. And only one of the 4 girls of the family had a child, it was not me, all the boys have children. Me and my sister are 2 years apart and we are so different, we don`t look much alike either except we have green eyes.

My sister and I are also opposites in many ways..although we do have very similar voices..and our sense of humor is similar too. Sometimes we get along,a nd sometimes we don't.

That is funny to me. I have two sisters. My middle sister is 10 years younger than me and my youngest sister is 22 years younger than me. We don't have much in common. Our loos are the also the opposite. I have blond hair and blue eyes, my middle sister has brown hair and brain eyes and my youngest sister has brown hair and blue eyes. Lots of differences!

@AmbiePam Yes and we are all three very different people and our parents have raised us really different. I got strict you can't do anything parents, my middle sister got a private schooling education and got to participate in several extracurricular activities and my youngest sister hit the motherload. She does anything she wants and gets anything she wants. Before she got her drivers license she would ask my parents to take her and her friends to the movies and pay for it, they would drive her and her friends to the movies, pay for sed movie and then wait for them in the car because it was too far to drive back home and then return to pick them up. When I was growing up they would have thrown a fit if I had asked them to just go to the movies period. I would get lectured about the type of movie it was and how disgusting and disrespectful it was, etc. You get the picture.

i have many siblings. i've always thought we don't look like each other, even if we all have the same parents. yet once in a while someone would stop and ask about a brother or a sister, so maybe we do have some common physical traits after all.
