An unusual project for The Horse

My Paradise friend's girlfriend runs a consignment shop. All sorts of stuff goes through there. At their house, near the kitty water dishes, I found this roadrunner. I asked if I could bring it home, and they said yes. I'm not going to stain or oil it, as I have no idea about its origins. I don't want to reduce its value. But I am going to make legs for it and mount it on a nice block of wood. I did some research on roadrunners. The can fly, but they also run up to 26 mph when chasing prey (lizards, mice and such) on the ground. They don't run with their bodies parallel to the ground. It looks like their bodies are "up" by about 30 degrees. That's how I'll mount this one. Wish me luck!

I have seen them on the roads in the California desert, they can run pretty fast.

It's a pretty cool piece. Nobody seems to know its origins.

That sounds like an interesting project. The only roadrunner I ever saw was the one being chased by Wilie Coyote.

That will be an interesting project. It's nice to get such details as the angle of the body to the legs correct.

You might need a coyote, and a rocket for the coyote (joke)
