who responded to my last discussion. Seems like things aren't always easy and I am now tied up with an infection I never heard of--yes, I googled it but would be more interested in discussing it from beginning to end for those who have been through it. After going into the ER on Thursday evening I have been taking 2 antibiotic pills a day but so far no change. Went to the urologist this MORNING--he said I had Epididymitis What do you mean you don't know what it means?!?!?!? He said it could be 'caught' in many ways including a STD but he ruled that out in my case after tests Noy knowing much about Epididymitis I did what Chuck my Tyrant Guru always tells me to do--I googled it--here's what I got. About 600,000 cases of epididymitis are reported in the United States every year, mostly in men between 18 and 35. In men older than 35, epididymitis usually happens because of an infection of the bladder or urinary tract. Some cases of epididymitis are caused by the E. coli bacteria, or in rare cases, by the same bacteria that causes tuberculosis. When the swelling and tenderness extends past the epididymis and into the testicle itself, that’s known as epididymo-orchitis. (Which is what I have!) The most common treatment for epididymitis is antibiotics. If your doctor believes you have epididymitis, he might give you a prescription for antibiotics before any lab test results are even back. You’ll likely take those medications for a week or two, and you’ll usually start feeling better in a matter of days. Always take your full course of antibiotics as prescribed, even when you feel better. Even after your antibiotics take effect, some swelling may last for weeks or months, and you may still be sore during that time. You can reduce the pain and swelling by taking over-the-counter pain relievers, applying a cold compress, or elevating your scrotum (you might wear supportive underwear, like a jockstrap). Now I may have to go out and buy a few 'items'! All in all he wants me off my feet as much as possible, keeping the crotch area elevated as much as possible and doing the cold compress 3 times a day. I go back to him next Tuesday BUT in the afternoon!!! He also warned me the meds he gave me and in addition to the pain relievers could play havoc with my coumindin blood thinner and I would have to keep a close eye on that! On that note excuse me while I get my ice pack and go to bed!! Oh he also said that I should not SIT at the computer more than 10 minutes at a time and not more than 2 hours a day, if that long! I figure I will be back in a week to 10 days--what do you think?

So sorry you're sick. That's one thing that happens when we get older: we get new lessons in anatomy and medicine every time we go to the doctor. Get well quickly! Take your meds, rest, and drink lots of chicken soup!

Hoping that you will get well, friend. You are in the right track after the doctors discovered what you had and how to cure it.
