Floods and heavy rain in my native state

Heavy rain in Kerala
@Sreekala (34312)

July 18, 2018 6:54am CST
It has been raining heavily in Kerala, my native state, for the last one week which made the life of the people a tough one. My home and in –laws homes are in a safe place but my sister’s house is disturbed with water. A river is flowing nearby so the water is reached her home as well. Rain is not showing any sign of stopping. Such heavy rain is getting in this place after ten years of duration. In fact many Indian states are getting heavy rain and most of the places are under water for the last one week. No idea what will be the outcome of this unusual rain. There was no net connection for me for two days so I was absent here again.

@Sreekala Here in Odhisa also the situation is not different. My friend who has just returned from Bhubaneshwar says that roads in the capital city are submerged under knee-deep water.

@Shivram59 Yes, many deaths happened already. We can expect more as there may be outbreak of water born diseases after the floods. People must be careful on drinking water and food for avoiding health issues.

I think after floods more problems will arise as disease may spread due to contaminated water. Many places, drinking water is unavailable even they are living in the midst of water.

Many homes are filled with water and no drinking water there. In some particular areas people left home and shifted to a safe place.

@Sreekala some families whose houses are submerged in flood waters, refuse to leave their homes because they fear their personal belongings will be stolen by robbers. but the government agencies insist they should leave their houses. the evacuation centers are also crowded and drinking water is almost always not available.

Yes, that time many places were safe since it was only rain water. This time, the water released from dams (almost 39 dams) led to the disasters.
