From my vault comes the well-known action film - Avatar. Written and produced by James Cameron, this film has stunning visual effects, for which it won an Oscar, as well as Oscars for Best Art Direction and Best Cinematography. Set on the world of Pandora, Jake Sully - Sam Worthington, a Marine paraplegic who takes on the body of a Na'vi to learn their ways, Neytiri - Zoe Saldana, a Na'vi woman who sets about to teach Jake, and Grace - Sigourney Weaver - a scientist who wants to study them and learn from them. Then there's the main antagonist, Jarhead, Marine, Col. Miles Quaritch who wants to destroy the Na'vi, and Giovanni Ribisi, who wants to mine the particular area where the Na'vi live. Bring in Trudy Chacon - Michelle Rodriguez - pilot, and you have the makings of a tale that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Some information gleaned from Wikipedia: While in theaters, it broke box office records and became the highest-grossing film of all time. There are two more sequels currently in production to be released in 2020 and 2021, when those are finished filming, there are two more scheduled for release in 2024 and 2025. That is how I spent my evening yesterday, watching this wonderful movie. If you haven't seen it, I fully recommend it. Thanks for reading.
