Are teens really jumping out of moving cars??

Just when I thought kids can't do anything more stupid than eat a tide pod ( laundry soap for anyone unaware of what it is) they do. Apparently the new trend for idiot teen challenges is jumping out of a moving vehicle. Its one thing when they want to be stupid and kill themselves... Its another when they pick something that can kill or injure others. Seriously? I hope I don't see any idiot do this. This topic brought up a very moral / ethical question... Do you run them over, or hit another car/ tree / guardrail (possibly killing yourself) to avoid hitting them if you can't stop in time or do something else ???

I think these teens have too much time on their hands and should be spending it more wisely. They could be volunteering to help others or help out around their home! When my kids say they are bored (which I VERY rarely hear) they know I will put them to work around where we live so they don't say it-at least not around me. These teens need something similar so they can find productive things to do...

Exactly! If I ever said I was bored my mom would be like "there is 6 acres of grass to cut" or assign some other chore... trust me, I learnt to never use those words with her! hahaha! I've done the same with my kids! minus the yard cutting! I can easily find a boring chore to do if they cant figure out to play dolls, color, read, play with whatever!

@Daelii Yeah, these teens definitely need more parental guidance it seems. If I knew some of them I would help them feel loved and more productive at the same time.

They are just ghost riding, man. Literally, ghost riding because they are going to die and possess the car. Or get their car possessed and crushed...Whatever happens first.

@Daelii This has been an old stunt. Ghost riding has been around for ages. You would think they would find a new thing to do.

I agree with Jennifer. I remember when kids would hitch a ride on the back bumper of cars. This was in the winter with snow and ice.

Kids now days are so stupid, I just saw something else yesterday they are doing, hanging from a noose to see who can hang the longest. What the hell is wrong with the youth of today?? You bring up a good point about the car, your either gonna ruin their lives or your own.

If I was a teenager I would think of doing that only if I am being kidnapped.

I'd like to know what the reward is for stepping up to the challenge and is it worth risking their lives over? Obviously these teens have self esteem issues, or they'd have more common sense.

My instinct would make me swerve. An idiotic man in a bike rides out of a lot this morning right in front of me trying to cross the street. I mean right in front of me. I swerved to avoid him, but if he had gotten but the fault would lie with him. Stupid never goes out of style.

That's a good question. Even if you do keep going and run them over you could still hurt yourself or others. i feel like the internet has really been a deterrent towards the development of common sense. I grew up before the internet was popular. The stupidest thing we did was put glue on our hands and wait till it dried to peel it off.
